for #VPSharingSunday these shots by @thyminee.bsky.social were my favorites of the week. their photos are always so colorful and vibrant and i loved the creative composition.

thanks! i like the dark moody shadows too but i might have lost some of the background details. the whole 'alex stuck between a NUSA flag and a bottle of whisky' seemed perfect.
yes, the focal length is the key because that changes the distance required to frame the same shot. i think GoW Ragnarok (not positive) called the setting FOV but it was just straight magnification from the same camera position. it doesn't help that games use these terms inconsistently.
btw i was going though your portfolio stuff the other day. i love a ton of your shots, and the analog glitch stuff blew me away. so creative.
i think you're right that a lot of games use zoom and FOV interchangeably. i think technically....zoom is just magnification while FOV changes magnification and perspective between objects at depth. that's why low FOV shots suck in background elements more than a basic zoom.
if you're not having fun and feel like you're forcing a shot, just shut down photo mode and go back to playing the game. don't make it a chore.
i think all of my favorite shots came when i was having fun playing and something caught my eye.
A photo taken in No Man's Sky, showing a top down view of a Starship called the Boundary Herald, which is sitting on top of a landing pad The photo is square, framed perfectly with the landing pad. The ship, and some of the squares on the landing pad, are red #NoMansSky #NMS
