boss enemy that's easy to juggle but it constantly releases delayed projectiles while it's airborne that you eventually have to deal with is one of the coolest ways i've ever seen a game balance air combos. magenta horizon is the sickest game ever

i still think we overcorrected way too hard from the ps3/360 grey brown era. ended up with lots of horribly garish bright throwup games coming out for awhile, and now some people will just not accept a game with a more muted palette lol

there are definitely cases where it can apply but i do think people can get a little crazy with "more colors = more good!!" for game visuals. seeing more and more people include re1 remake and re4 in their ugly grey brown slop discussions and I'm just like alright man hold on...

revisiting og re4 is so funny cause it's one of the games I'm the most familiar with that i love so dearly but i feel like every time i come back to it after awhile it's somehow better

i keep getting a vision in my head of a game that basically plays like re4 but you dual wield handguns and have to aim with each analog stick separately. it looks pretty cool in my head at least

a lot of the island really just feels like monotonous ammo dumping because of the absurd staggers. enemies often dying before you can even get a melee prompt is so weird lol. besides that, i think i appreciate this game more than ever. some neat stuff in here even if it's a little sloppy sometimes

beat re4 remake on professional. fun difficulty, not as hard as it seems like it's gonna be in the early chapters. sadly i feel like it falls off a bit at the island. i actually kinda like the stagger mechanics for most of the game but it's just genuinely goofy once you reach the island

i beat a few encounters that seemed really tough at first in re4 remake on professional by finding a path i can just kite guys around on, had me thinking about that. it's not like the stamina stops you from doing that necessarily i just think it adds a little spice even when you're playing "boring"

it's funny cause so many people hate it but i really appreciate the evil within's stamina system. having that "manage this bar or you are FUCKED" in the back of your head can keep it tense even when you're just kiting enemies around

re4 remake on professional has been surprisingly really fun so far, getting rid of the limits on weapon upgrades is such a cool change. only letting you perfect parry is also cool, it feels just annoying enough to do that for now i only really use it as a last resort if i screw up. crouching is cool
