(part 2) podcast creators can also include a tag for video in the rss feed for other podcast players who aren't taking a cut of it. Which we can push people towards.
But tbh, based on what I've seen Apple, Spotify + YouTube make by 85-90% of all podcast listening.

to be fair to Apple, i think it is not unreasonable that they want some monetary incentive to maintain Apple Podcasts.
Compared to Spotify + YouTube's model, where you have to upload your video on their servers (where they do ad insertion and take their cut), Apple's model is more creator friendly.

Hey, just submitted this to Hacker News if you'd like to give an upvote / comment!

one idea is: I used the `did:key` method and bsky / atproto use `did:web` & `did:plc` methods. I could update the spec to use allow all did methods.
I do think more did method and even verifiable creds are on the eventual roadmap.
Hey, I just launched an app called Antler. The app showcases how we can rebuilt WeChat Mini Apps, but using open web standards.

My 2 takeaways were:
- the type of event was a workshop (which is different than the tech meetup / hack days we normally put on) - so more friendly to regular people, not just techies
- and we posted about the event in non tech spaces (like product slack groups etc)
Hey, I was one of the organizers. I was really happy with the diversity at the event. To be honest it was more about it not being the regular tech crowd that shows up. Me and one of the organizers of @dwebyvr.org chatted about what we can learn and bring it back to our regular DWeb events.

All the comics on inkverse.co use that comic specification.
ie) if you help comic creators publish their comics in a similar lexicon, I could write a script that takes them and converts it to the format that Inkverse can display.
inkverse is open-source (github.com/taddyorg/ink...)

Hey, I added a Proposal to allow exclusive episodes inside the RSS feed.
Working Demo included.

I did make an open spec for webcomics: 3s-docs.org/comicseries
All the comics on inkverse.co are self-hosted in this format.
I wanted to incorporate it into inkverse, but tbh it felt like a major refactor to rearchitect everything to use PDS vs a self-hosted feed.
woah! great job on this π

If you like DWeb / Open Standards and live around Vancouver, we got a Open Standards Science Fair coming up the last week of May. dwebyvr.org/dweb-science... Looking for people willing to present or attend.
Example: Podcast players have this with import / export all your podcast through OPML and it's awesome as a user.
I have a half-baked idea to encourage AtProtocol adoption.
For apps that already exist, encourage the pattern of import and export using a lexicon. (It might be a lot of work rebuild the whole app to use ATProto but this could be an easier way to start)
Talking about innovation, nothing beats the overall impact of open protocols and open source.
The "old" standards like TCP/IP, SMTP, and HTTP are what truly unlocked the economic growth in today's tech industry.
Facebook, Netflix, Spotify all depend on and profit from open standards to this day.
Super excited for our next Webtoon book club! We'll be reading Fragmented Dreams by

Oh whoops. I missed that. Thanks!
whats your podcast industry site? I would love to check it out.
Talked to my friend's 14 year kid. He asked his mom to set up a Wealthsimple for his allowance so he could invest in Vanguard. Smart kid.
However, you know that famous story from the 1920s about the investor who was spooked when the guy shining his shoes gave him stock tips. This is mine.
Idea. I would imagine most people know the brand bluesky vs AT Proto. I wonder if the UX should be 'login w/ bluesky ' with a smaller option to login w/ another PDS below it.
But I think get your idea. AT Proto is not just about BlueSky.
I wrote a viral (for me) post about how I would rebuild my app on AT Protocol. I think it gives a good overview of how it works as well. bsky.app/profile/dmat...

I meant it I wouldn't be able to replicate that experience on podyssey fyi
In that case. The great user experience you get right now on bkuesky where a new user doesn't know what a PDS is goes away. (If they have to login with a provider on signup)
