Love doing for organisations that are on Bluesky 🦋
So here’s an opportunity to share an update on the research projects I have been leading.

I am fascinated by their love of Emmanuel Macron.

After the Christian outrage, Trump now denies he depicted himself as the healing Jesus, and claims he was supposed to be a doctor. I'd believe he is the incarnation of Jesus before I'd believe he studied medicine

The Guardian did a piece on how the hell Wireless Festival let the Kanye West car crash happened and the main guy they interview to comment on the issue is named… Goebbels 😬

This is Vienna’s Holocaust memorial monument. I feel like I can vaguely guess the memo given to the artist.
“Do what they did in Berlin but like MUUUCH smaller. Cause we don’t have the same budget. or the same sense of guilt.”

People said he stood absolutely no chance and expected a 65%/35% type of scenario. In the end he ran a very good campaign, working hard to engage migrant communities who are less likely to vote and yes he lost but with 45% of the vote. He gave the CSU a run for their money. A happy political day.

The people I spoke to all have had the same thing to say about him “I wouldn’t vote for him because i wouldn’t vote CSU but he’s not a bad guy.” It’s a pretty resounding endorsement when this is what people who don’t vote for you have to say about you. Against him was SPD candidate Nasser Ahmed 5/x

Not feel like you’re trying to prevent some kind of major catastrophe of a right winger passes. The mayor of Nuremberg represents a “soft right” you don’t see much anymore these days. Pro-LGBT, not anti-immigration. Loud about wanting Nuremberg to feel inclusive for all. I’m new in town but all 3/x

Falling into populist traps. With over 60% of votes going to the left - I feel proud to be Parisian.
Today I also voted in Nuremberg in person. As with Paris today was the 2nd round of the municipal election. The right wing candidate and incubator mayor won but for once it feels refreshing to 1/x

The environment and social justice. The right wing campaigned hard saying Paris has been a lab experiment for the left. Yes, it’s true. And the experiment has won. The quality of the air in Paris has drastically improved thanks to their policy. Tonight they showed you can do all this without 2/x

Today I voted in two cities and I’m so proud of both.
I voted by proxy in Paris. The socialists/green alliance has won with a nice margin despite refusing an alliance with Melenchon’s party and his antisemitic and pro Russian discourse. They proved the left can win and be ambitious about 1/x

Charlotte, you’re so brave. Thank you for being a voice for all survivors in Parliament. Your experience mirrors that of so many others and people need to hear those stories. Thank you.

On a cheery pink background, the line: "this Purim I'm going to get so drunk that I can't tell the right-wing antisemites from the left-wing antisemites".

Jayme Lawson from Sinners hit the nail on the head and said how I felt with the whole BAFTAs situation.

Is Charles Kushner receiving a US government salary as he strolls philosophically about Paris, taking in the sights, barred from meeting officials, the last of the great flâneurs

I feel like this exact research keeps coming up every 5-10 years with always the same disclaimer “we can’t be sure if it has anything to do with coffee/tea drinking or other factors” which is a pretty big arse caveat.
In other words “we are making a claim but it could be total bollocks.”

I have discovered the existence of Al Carns on Bluesky just now. Googling him and @omrilh.bsky.social says: “Are you sure it’s AL Carns and not AI Carns? Cause he looks like an AI generated MP created to run for leadership. I am sure even his mum doesn’t think he’s real.”

Time we stripped the Prince of Darkness of his royal title. He should simply be Peter Mandelson-Darkness from now on.

I am a YIMBY but that is actually a good NIMBY side effect, isn’t it? Sure, we need houses more than we need sex clubs but we also need to make sure there are spaces for “niche social clubs” to ensure the vibrancy and social fabric of cities?

So now that all the big tories have defected to Reform, will Reform still be able to sell itself as an alternative? The no non-sense guys who say it like it is? Like you’re now the Tory party with a new name. I can see how a few defections is good but surely at this point it’s not good anymore?

Grok — we think it’s time to pull the plug We had hoped for a better start to 2026 but there it is, Grok, X’s AI is all over the news again, this time because people — well, let’s…

Never use this account for professional stuff but maybe now is the time to start. I wrote about the madness going on in the other place with Grok turned into a tool of mass scale harassment against women and the many companies (and Qatari government) happily funding it blog.chayn.co/grok-we-thin...

You’ll never defeat us in Iran, President Trump: but with real talks, we can both win | Abbas Araghchi The US president has been fooled into seeing Israel as a reliable ally and Tehran as the enemy. We say he should rethink, says Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi

The Guardian… offered a column to the Iranian regime?!? 🥴
Am I alone in finding this completely deranged?!
