What's the plan for westbound W Laurel/N Harbor if you're on a bike and trying to avoid going on the new pseudo freeway 3-lane airport access road? @obcycler.bsky.social I usually do an early merge left 1-2 lanes if I get stopped at the light where W Laurel starts but it's dicey regardless.

I can't imagine that's a guarantee you'd get a spot that close to Petco regularly. How early are you getting to games and what's your backup when you can't find a spot on the street?
Front page of San Diego Union-Tribune with headline: $10-an-hour parking comes to Petco Park next month.
Who's even inconvenienced by this change? Nobody's driving to the Gaslamp when the Padres are playing expecting to get street parking.

I think it's much easier technically, but more complicated/costly because of the commitment to maintain intersecting roads & access on farms, plus the water/flood planning reqs.
Agreed, same for Fourth in front of the old California Theater. Major bus stop for riders on the 3 transferring to the Trolley, but everyone's forced to walk in the street. Has been that way for years now.
