This is fascinating! 60 acres is a big property - does anyone know where along the Olentangy this was located?

Refusing to vote for the “lesser of two evils” often means that you wind up with much, much, much more evil, much of which can never be reversed
Last year, the flu vaccine saved 12,000 lives and prevented over 100,000 hospitalizations according to the CDC.
Congratulations for the recognition and student success!
RFK Jr. just said that immigration is to blame for the outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases in the U.S., not him.
IDF commanders told Haaretz that southern Lebanon is being demolished “like Gaza.” The declared goal is to prevent civilians from being able to return.
Both are war crimes punishable under international law.

Yes, Israel is destroying Lebanon's breadbasket. This is why I have been saying that Israel's goal is to destroy Lebanon itself.
Holy SHIT someone found the test pressing of Robert Johnson's Cross Road Blues and it is clear as a PIN www.openculture.com/2026/04/reco...
Sánchez: “Shame on those who remain silent in the face of injustice. Shame on those who exploit workers, who criminalise those who are different, who turn rights into commodities, who defend elite privilege, who support war and violence in Gaza, the West Bank, Ukraine, Lebanon, and the Middle East.”

Today's #TenMinMerlin from my backyard! The usual suspects plus a few new friends. It's a lovely soundtrack for a Saturday morning.
Thinking about the 62 million views, and then thinking about how marital rape was only made illegal in all 50 US states in the summer of 1993.
I can remember 1993. I can remember what was on the radio at the time. I had just been in my first movie. It was not so long ago.
That's a good suggestion! I think it's worth reaching out. Sometimes people really aren't aware of the issues. I've had some arguments with colleagues who aren't as plugged in on issues as I am (being terminally online) and they had no idea of the environmental consequences of AI use.
Do they have social media or contacts to let them know how you feel? That seems so... paradoxical to have that job and yet use AI, which wrecks the environment. Are they not aware?
US tax dollars are supporting this.
Ah okay ! Merlin thought it was the Louisiana by the call. I can't remember what it looked like...it was down in a creek and we were up a bit on the trail.
What is going on today???
I caught one of these last year at Blendon!! I am just a French teacher and really new to the whole bird watching thing but as soon as I read your post, I remembered this guy! Looks like I found him in early June. Does that sound right?
Illumination from a medieval Roman de Renart manuscript
Anyway, think I'll read some Old French this weekend and dust the cobwebs out of my brain.
And I encourage any other colleagues who have lost touch with whatever your passion or prior calling was to dust it back off occasionally. Sometimes it's good to reread past chapters.

Student looked puzzled. I finally realized I was being far too indulgent of my own special interests and explained, "It would be like if we started calling RABBITS as "BUGS" like BUGS BUNNY because he's the most famous example of a rabbit." That clicked.

Today's animal was a FOX 🦊. I explained LE RENARD, which is fairly challenging for English speakers to pronounce. Some students wanted help so they could say it correctly, and my nerdy medievalist self launched into a whole explanation about the origins of RENARD from Le Roman de Renart. 3/
I use classroomscreen to display my daily agendas. They have backgrounds to choose from, including a variety of animals. I've been using those & teaching the French animal names in that context. 2/
I use a limited bit of my graduate work in my current job. I teach HS French, so I am obviously using my language competency, but I NEVER have the use for my medieval & Renaissance lit studies because, well, high school. But today I got the chance to terrify a poor teen with random medieval lit! 1/
An incredibly moving piece. Praying for peace for my family's country.
Probably the only time in my life I've agreed with Pullins on anything.
A fire broke out after a reported Israeli strike in Tyre, southern Lebanon.
AOC: Whether it’s people in the Epstein files still roaming free, or the president, a known rapist, continuing to occupy the White House, all of this has contributed to the normalization and the idea that incidents of harassment shouldn’t matter.
And I think today was an important turning point
23 TOWNS IN THE SOUTH WERE BOMBED BY ISRAEL during the meeting in Washington
23 Lebanese towns and villages were bombed by Israel while Lebanon and Israel were ‘talking’ in the US
Someone just told me that The Princess Bride is "overrated" and long story short it's perfectly acceptable to remove toxic people from your life.
