Fear,
There is still so much to climb
Your voice gets loud when I look up
Is that where you're waiting for me?
I'll keep climbing
I trust you
You can see the house I'll build

Nope but a lot of people who are anti-AI paradoxically seem to trust them.

I think we should be a lot more careful than we are when we talk about AI art. I think a lot of AI reactionism comes from a good place but is going to have catastrophic consequences to art learning and knowledge.

If we dislike AI generated art because of how it looks, and if AI art commands a grasp of lighting and rendering that is greater than the general populace, then are we training non-artists or beginners to dislike the output from training fundamentals?

To become a master of a craft you have to understand your own honesty. You have to know what you genuinely like. How can you discover this if you're afraid to make art that looks AI-generated? Do we dislike AI-generated art because of how it was made or because of how it looks?

I am entering a threshold in my artwork where detectors think that my art is machine-generated, and I now observe a weird tension between the pursuit of mastery and anti-AI discourse.

If your objective is mastery, be weary of art videos/tutorials that are popular (hundreds of thousands of views or more). Quality information is challenging to digest and will work against an algorithm that privileges mass-appeal content, and you are not representative of the average artist.

I know I can create custom feeds but I waste too much time endlessly scrolling if I accidentally swipe to the wrong feed and I want to minimize that risk.

When I feel ready, I will start following my friends again. This is temporary! But I have to do this.

I'm cleaning up my feed and am only going to be following accounts that post media that align *exactly* with my goals. This means I'm going to be unfollowing a lot of my friends. Please do not take this personally. If we've interacted before, I would like to keep interacting.

The entire concept of bidding for adopts (and maybe the idea of adopts in general) has always been a little provocative for me. I'm not exactly sure what the difference is between getting an adopt and spending money on those star-naming websites.

Self portrait. Not proud of some of my actions recently and I want to do better.

I think tool-disinterest is also stagnating. I think acting with dishonesty stagnates art and I think reactionism is an example of dishonesty. I think your original post that started this thread was made dishonestly. Something compelled you to make that post. It did not come from your earnestness.

I like Imax.

Video games are a collaboration between tech and art. You cannot have one without the other. A game that is technically poor is not exemplary of good art. We artists have a due diligence to make our games as accessible and technically sound as possible. DLSS is an example of accessibility.

So you'd rather be in the dark about what Nvidia is doing?

So DF loses their biggest partner and the channel goes under and a dozen people lose employment. Happy?

This is the limitation of language where them saying the DLSS5 version looks better or is more impressive is NOT the same thing as them saying it's the look they earnestly prefer.

A photorealistic drawing will look more impressive than a stylized one but that doesn't mean it's the preferred one.

They never said that using this tech is their preferred way of playing a game. They didn't say that they preffered how the DLSS5 version looks.

I don't understand what you're looking for. Like, please tell me what else they should have done. What solution are you proposing here?

1 month ago 0 0 2 0

They have a close relationship with Nvidia that they cannot in any circumstance afford to lose, and is why they were allowed to preview this tech. They repeated multiple times in the video that this tech is controversial and can hinder artistic vision. I'm not sure what else you're expecting.

So them describing multiple times in the video that this tech is controversial and can hinder artistic vision is your definition of them "glazing"?

1 month ago 0 0 0 0

They have a business partnership with Nvidia which is why they were able to preview this tech. It would be *colosally* stupid of them to "rip it to shreds" unless you want their entire channel to collapse. They described multiple times in the video that this technology is controversial.

I know exactly what I need to do to get my art to where I need it to be.

The next twelve months will be some of the most intense grinding I have ever done. There is a great risk of overaccumulating dishonesty but I have faith in my techniques to temper it. Or... I hope I can, at least.
