Another long-overdue page on DITAWriter has been updated: the listing for DITA Consultants (www.ditawriter.com/dita-consult...). Since the last update, many DITA-related consulting firms have come and gone, though I have made several new additions to this list and updated their descriptions #ditaxml

Just posted a long-overdue update to my Companies Using DITA (www.ditawriter.com/companies-using-dita/) page on DITAWriter, now with 802 firms, and highlighting all "new" firms that are using the technical writing standard. Part of my prep for my talk at the CIDM ConVEx conference next month.
The DITAWriter.com website is back up and running. A bad plugin update went very wrong and knocked out the whole site. Currently working on updating the listing of #DITAXML -related conferences, so stay tuned! #StructuredContent
On February 18, I'll present how I converted an old Model T car manual to DITA using Generative AI. I learned a lot about the pros and cons of using an LLM for creating structured content, and I plan to discuss what you can expect and the pitfalls to avoid. Registration info: lnkd.in/e5b-EE9a.
I used Claude.ai to convert a legacy Model T car manual to DITA XML. I found more issues with consistency in coding and style, and learned that it can act as a SME in some cases (not always welcome). But there's no doubt that AI-based conversion is here to stay. www.ditawriter.com/converting-m...
Slide deck predicting (hopefully) that DITA 2.0 might be released in 2020.
The recent New Year celebrations made me think about why I don't like making predictions when it comes to DITA 2.0; from a slide deck I presented back in 2017:
I find installing Oxygen to be pretty much seamless these days, and it sets up the DITA Output Generator to work with it as well. Not tough a tough thing anymore.
I'd recommend getting the 30-day free trial of Oxygen XML editor, and taking a look at the free online courses at learningdita.com. Also, you might want to try playing with existing code samples listed at wiki.oasis-open.org/dita-adoptio....
If you have wondered about the "why" of DITA keys along with the "how", check out my new article on DITAWriter exploring both: www.ditawriter.com/the-how-and-... #DITAXML #techcomm #keys
Terrific list, to which I have already subscribed/followed. Definitely helps finding people with the same interest in TechDoc-related matters. And could you please add me to this listing the next time you update it?
I just finished updating the DITA Tools listing page at www.ditawriter.com/dita-tools/, which primarily lists free and open-source plugins. DITA Platforms will come on a separate page next week. #ditaxml #techcomm
