Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
Pet peeve: People who advocate for not washing cast iron pans or mokka pots... 🤢
Man... he's just so good at making deals. It's an art really...
The main reason I bought a bigger desk was so that my cat would have more space when keeping me company. (Also, she kept just lying on the keyboard and mouse, which is suboptimal when gaming or having a video call).
its actually very funny that the stranger things creators have never played dungeons and dragons because ending each adventure without any idea where you are going next and hyping a villain so much you could never hope to stick the landing is extremely on brand for a D&D campaign
Wow... just... wow! (also thanks for sharing!)
Somehow this article manages to feature every aspect of inter-Israeli politics without intending to, I'm impressed www.timesofisrael.com/cops-violent...
Same thought here: OMG, this looks like Hollow Knight, but why is it Jewish and how am I so into this??
Maybe YOUR Jesus came back from the dead today, but mine won't be dead until next week, so there's that.
Seems like there's already a demo out for the Steam version by the way: store.steampowered.com/app/2254950/...
Just came across a trailer for The Eternal Life of Goldman, and holy shit! I love the premise, the art style and the gameplay! 💜

“Secondhand clothes sales forecast to hit $289bn as AI helps shoppers find deals” says The Guardian, AI threatening the demise of yet more fun.
None of these words should be sharing a sentence, yet I am absolutely here for this!!
Is it okay if I laughed just a little reading this?
Comic in sieben Panels. 1. Panel Überschrift: Was ist Autistic Joy?
Happy Autism Acceptance Day/Month!

So solidarity with minorities is now totally dependent on profitability and whether it makes anyone uncomfortable? Cool cool cool...

Agreed. Also, thanks for sharing the link to the article.
In other news: The only democracy in the Middle East has passed a death penalty law that only applies to a racial minority.
You can be a good person & still have a past that would ruin your reputation at the wrong dinner table. Life is weird like that. Sometimes your worst years are what make you better later. And sometimes the reason you're so careful now is because you remember the damage you were capable of. That's the uncomfortable origin story of a lot of good people. Turns out shame can grow a conscience if you let it.
Realest post I have read today
A middle-aged cutie with a ginger beard and green glasses. They look a little tired, but they smile.
Flying back from Greece today after a somewhat unexpected funeral. Got to experience so much grief and love that I haven't fully processed yet.
Right now I'm just grateful and tired.
Took me forever to find out that this setting even exists in Windows... I absolutely hate software applying some settings in the background without telling me. 😕

", [and don't,] dare I say it, try and shove, like, crappy identity politics into it" Oh no, Andy Weir, No. Just No.
Please stop spreading this rage bait.
The quote everyone's angry about, about "crappy identity politics," is not from Weir.
Finished reading Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary, after a couple of folks so warmly praised it, and I can only agree: What a lovely and heartwarming piece of science fiction!
