[alt text by NASA] The Moon, seen here backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse on April 6, 2026, is photographed by one of the cameras on the Orion spacecraft’s solar array wings. Orion is visible in the foreground on the left. Earth is reflecting sunlight at the left edge of the Moon, which is slightly brighter than the rest of the disk. The bright spot visible just below the Moon’s bottom right edge is Saturn. Beyond that, the bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars. Credit: NASA

Whoa 🤯

The Moon, in full eclipse, with the #Artemis II Orion spacecraft. Part of the Moon and spacecraft are lit by Earthshine, and both Saturn and Mars are visible to the lower right. Incredible. Details: images.nasa.gov/details/art0...

A Kindle is being held up in front of a bookshelf. The title reads ‘the Last Contract of Isako’ by Fonda Lee. Books on the bookshelf in the background include titles by Ken Liu, Fonda Lee, David Mitchell, Leigh Bardugo and Brandon Sanderson

I made such a weird noise when I discovered I’d been sent an ARC for @fondalee.bsky.social’s upcoming book - The Last Contract of Isako. Insanely excited for this; I immediately cleared my schedule so I could get stuck in!

“I will NOT sacrifice the Oxford comma. We've made too many compromises already; too many retreats. They assimilate the em dash and we fall back. They capture ‘not just X but y’ and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further!”

It’s a lot more straightforward than WUTLH, but still excellent and a great chunk of Old House Archives lore to digest! Also more of a slow burn, but oh God, I found it so STRESSFUL when it hits. Very excited for it to come out so we can all swap theories 😍🤓

I liked how The Fisherman read like an old fisherman spinning me a yarn, and I always do yearn for some cosmic Old Gods horror...but agree, overhyped!

Finally, I’ve become utterly obsessed with We Used To Live Here and its connected world - an ARG that’s unfolded on Reddit. I even managed to snag the ARC for Kliewer’s upcoming second book, The Caretaker, which I devoured in a day. Anyone else gone down this rabbit hole?

I also read 3 ARCs - She Waits Where Shadows Gather (Filipino haunted house and folklore), Hunger and Thirst (slow burn weird girl horror) and What Feeds Below (fun, gross, like if The Descent and Delicious in Dungeon had a fungus love child). Full reviews: 🔗 app.thestorygraph.com/user_reviews...

I’m not saying I have a type, but I apparently read 5 books set in haunted houses in March.

Buffalo Hunter Hunter was an absolute masterclass in horror and revenge - highly recommend.

Ten Thousand Doors of January is a beautiful, rich fantasy oozing with love and adventure.

I’m not sure with StoryGraph, but I’m aiming to post timely review links here once it’s closer to each book’s release date! So for example, I’ll most about Molka in April, before the 30th April release date ❤️

Recently I've reviewed:
🐟 Fishbone Cinderella by Elizabeth Lim
📸 Molka by Monika Kim
🌿What Feeds Below by Tatiana Schlote-Bonne
🥭She Waits Where Shadows Gather by Michelle Tang
💧Hunger & Thirst by Claire Fuller

Two of these were 5 star reads to me! One was...deeply disappointing.

I've been getting into ARCs recently (Advance Reader Copy). If you're interested in my reviews for upcoming books, check out my Storygraph page: app.thestorygraph.com/user_reviews...

This is usually our busiest time of year at the centre

2 [Show a sign outside a medical institution reading:]

Centre for Adults Who Still Can’t Get Their Heads Round Daylight Savings

3
NURSE:
We have a spike in admissions when BST starts

4
CONFUSED PATIENT BEING LAID DOWN BY NURSES:
Is it forward or back?

NURSE:
Lie down love

5
We often see the same patients ever year

PATIENT:
So it’s like… time travel?

DOCTOR:
No

6 Every year we try to explain BST to them in a fun and memorable way

[The patients are sat around a fun show, with people dressed in bunny suits jumping around a giant clock]

BUNNY: And now I *spring forward*...

7
[Bunny springs forward one hour on clock]

8
PATIENT WATCHING SHOW:
I don’t get it

9
The hardest patients are the Summer Time refusers

10 PATIENT [sat strapped to a chair as a doctor talks to him through a screen, through a tannoy]

PATIENT: But why is it better?

DOCTOR [talking through microphone]:

Because it complicates things.

11
PATIENT:
How is that good?

DOCTOR:
It makes you more tired.

12

DOCTOR [to assistant]:
Fetch the cattle prod

[Ends]

I haven’t read anything by him yet, but The Terror has been on my To Read list for a while. (Although the people who recommended it to me did so with the caveat that he’s terrible at writing women). Uh. Doesn’t sound like the most glowing recommendation, does it? 😅 But that’s all I’ve got!

Started reading Mongrel by Hanako Footman. Given that it’s about mixed heritage ESEA women struggling to belong, and how I’ve often been called a mongrel in my life…I think this is going to be an interesting, challenging and hopefully cathartic read.
