OK, I was about to give up on this movie #Confession when within 10 minutes, a rather rundown blonde Kay Francis showed up, did a racy nightclub number, then plugged sleazy pianist lothario Basil Rathbone, and now it's a murder trial flashback and we're finally getting somewhere. #TCMParty

Yep. That was the main track there. It was the playground of the Hollywood elite until legalization in CA.

They headed down there for horse racing too, until CA legalized parimutuel betting in 1933, leading to the establishment of most of the great CA racetracks, like Bay Meadows, Hollywood Park, Del Mar, and Santa Anita (the latter two, sadly the only ones left.)
