I can hear "Pon De Replay" and "S.O.S." playing in the background on repeat.

You have to help another person. But it's not right to play God with masses of people. To be God you have to know what you're doing. And to do any good at all, just believing you're right and your motives are good isn't enough.
Imagine making bad-faith debating tactics 80 percent of how you take up space in public. Even worse, having lack of self-awareness that you are showing up in that way and that is why you're lonely AF.
The stuff of horror.
I really yearn for the reclamation of healthy rites of passages for boys and men. The legacy of assimilation under white supremacy culture and colonialism means so many generations and centuries with no rites of passage. I hope that you and other men will do the work of uncovering those lineages.
That makes a lot of sense to me.
I remember really struggling with a lot of my peers (usually guys) who thought logic was everything. They are really dismissive. Of course in middle school, I was too young to have language, to understand it was emotional immaturity, patriarchy, etc.
This flu has me playing sooooo much Nintendo. So much Kirby and Earthbound. 🥴
It seems like these guys have never touched grass a day of their life. That, or just have never had a warm human interaction.

I miss North Carolina so much but the unexpected bear sightings in WNC do bring up mixed feelings lmao
If you're like me and you use Apple Pay to pay your Minneapolis water bill, it's time to stop doing that. Email says "Avoid new credit card fees on your utility bill. Starting June 1, credit card payments will have a 2.35% processing fee." minneapolismn.gov/utility-billing
U.S. and Israel definitely reach a tie for worst countries in the world. At this point, I don't know who is worse than who. It is just different flavors of The Worst™️
I don't think the version of me in my mid-20s who was being treated with the wrong modalities or working with someone who is impatient with functional freeze in a Black body could FATHOM how much it could get better. ❤️
So much gratitude.
I am so much more patient and soft with myself because of our work together.
Having a therapist who believes you and respects you IS LIFE-CHANGING. It should be the standard, but it can be a journey to find the right one!
I love my therapist so so so much. I have grown so much and learned so much about myself, she has taken me so seriously and she has been so patient with me. 🥺
She is the standard!!!
They're perfect 🥰🥰
Mannequin Pussy has a Tiny Desk now!!!!!!
Birds have been super chatty today and yesterday here in Saint Paul. Crows are cool, but it's been nice to hear a wider variety of bird sounds as Spring continues to settle in.

When a white person asks you what something means, say I don’t know.
For the love of GOD stop giving up the culture.
All they finna do is bastardize it.
Watching My Friend Pretend Her Heart Is Not Breaking Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer On Earth, just a teaspoon of neutron star would weigh six billion tons. Six billion tons equals the collective weight of every animal on earth. Including the insects. Times three. Six billion tons sounds impossible until I consider how it is to swallow grief— just a teaspoon and one might as well have consumed a neutron star. How dense it is, how it carries inside it the memory of collapse. How difficult it is to move then. How impossible to believe that anything could lift that weight. There are many reasons to treat each other with great tenderness. One is the sheer miracle that we are here together on a planet surrounded by dying stars. One is that we cannot see what anyone else has swallowed.

I've read many of her essays on substack! They are so good, so important!
I Have No Assistant and I Must Scream
Artemis II's return has me thinking about this poem (again): "let's go by the speed of / queer zest & stay up / there..."
I think about all the men who had their wives typewrite for them unpaid like Wendell Berry....
Also, all the white folks who steal art from Black and Brown folks.
I've had white folks steal from me twice. Its spiritual laziness. It's a devaluing of community. It's a lot of things. I hate it.
