I saw at the end of the video that you're moving to Bremerhaven. Would be cool to bump into fellow trans gamedev foamer around here! And btw: there are going to be some vintage tram events in Bremen this year, considering it's their 150 year anniversary.

The biggest influence I still feel to this day was flash games - the small, weird and experimental. My mind was blown by the 3d racing games on Miniclip, local multiplayer design of Fireboy and Watergirl, as well as blood and guts spilled on Newgrounds (which I should not have seen at that age 😅).

Nintendo consoles and games were a very rare sight when I was growing up. Instead we met up to play Tibia in a basement internet cafe, shared pirated discs with GTA and NFS games, played through game magazine demo CDs until they were too scratched to work.

Wow, I remember playing the demo a while ago. Definitely gonna play the full version!

When I see this, I wonder what happens when it gets the translation wrong — potentially in an offensive way — and the speaker doesn’t know, but also how it will get people to change their speech patterns to be legible to the automated system, as we know people already do with voice assistants.
