You have unrealistic expectations of political power. More smaller parties that refuse to compromise just leads to more division and nothing getting done. We see this in PR countries spending millions for elections every 2 years, it often leads to more authoritarian leaning people taking power.

All Politics does creates team mentality, FPTP requires big tent politics which is less of an echo chamber because for your party to win you need enough broad appeal. Other systems create more divided camps that don't want to lose their base appealing to the broader public
