Secure cycle spaces also a game changer - no tech needed just to give bikes space and priority. On platform most secure - easier at end of line stop where no steps but could be done at all stations

no. The train station has secure on platform cycle spaces which is so useful. I get a cross country train often so bike spaces not guaranteed.
As a 30 year old runner i never considered cycling to our train station it was too far, too hilly and would leave me too sweaty! As a 50 year old non runner an ebike makes this a breeze! 🚴🏽♀️🔋 Much as I love evs it is ebikes that are the transformative tech.
what if you don't have a driving license?

i love back to market - they have supplied all our families phones and the no quibble return gives you confidence to part with your cash!!
I have a student project looking alternatives to working solar panels going for recycling since there are new higher spec ones that allow solar farms to earn more. But not easy to find a solution.
However we do news more options for people who can't drive for many reasons - esp with an increaseingly aging population which appears to be one of the mitigating issues in this case.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... Whilst I am sympatheric to someone with CFS I can imagine that it negatively impacts driving ability so it doesn't really seem a great excuse for not getting a driving ban- the judge certainly thought so.

I heard that the other day - where is it? Not that I have any desire to go down a run that fast on a tea tray head first!! But would be cool to see it up close.
when i saw Iain's name i thought he was the author and was very confused!! It is worrying how this can get through peer review. Reminds me of the paper saying reuseable nappies were less env friendly - discounting disposal impacts and including ironing!!!
No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Global environmental politics expert Dr Yixian Sun highlights future energy transition opportunities for UK and China.
Speaking on Outrage and Optimism: The Climate Podcast, Dr Sun highlighted the ways in which the UK could collaborate with #China in achieving each nation’s net zero targets.
A canny political and media strategy from @zackpolanski.bsky.social. Immediately he defuses climate delayers’ favourite cynical attack lines, and avoids headlines like “Polanski says you should never go on holiday, drive a car, or eat meat”.
But, crucially, he's leading by example...

Just want to give enormous credit to my colleague Dan Lewis, who not only spotted this problem yesterday but produced a huge amount of analysis.
We very much hope to see action in the Budget to address this.

Quizing people on their sex to see if they are 'allowed' ro be in the toilet sounds difficult to do in a non harrassing way. As a teen I was often misgendered (paricularly by uni lecturers). If someone doesn't take you at your word what will be 'proof' enough for them?
@myenergiuk.bsky.social @octopus.energy dobyou have any fleet adapted systems?

In 2018, Meta decided “clean energy” and “climate change” were politically sensitive topics, and demanded that I - a climate scientist - register as a political org to post and boost posts on them.
I refused, and my page has been shadow banned since then. For 7 years. Until this week, that is 😳
With all the milestones, how extraordinary this is can get lost!
Last Sunday on the BBC I announced we overtook the Tories at 124k members.
That's +26,000 members in the last week.
