Some edtech works (there is quite a lot of proof that well-designed intelligent tutoring systems have a positive effect on learning when used well), some edtech doesn't. Maybe if you average the results, there is not a lot of effect. But I don't think the average is a useful measure here.

Today I went to a primary school in Utrecht together with Imke de Jong to talk about research, the university and learning to program. The kids had many ideas for doing research; "how can we give people feedback when developing a new programming language" is something we could do something about!
