Is this the biggest misevaluation of the modern recruiting era?
When’s the NFL Draft that doesn’t have at least one Ohio State wide receiver go in the first round?
Ohio State’s 4 first round picks is the most of the Ryan Day era and the most since it had 5 players taken in a 2016 draft which was also filled with a bunch of national champions
Ohio State has 3 first round NFL Draft picks for the 3rd time in the Ryan Day era:
2020: Chase Young, Jeff Okudah & Damon Arnette
2023: CJ Stroud, Paris Johnson & Jaxon Smith-Njigba
2025: Emeka Egbuka, Donovan Jackson & Tyleik Williams
1 room, 6 first round NFL draft picks.
Ohio State’s 2021 Spring wide receiver room was truly something special:
“That’s probably one of the craziest rosters I’ve ever heard in my life”
A look at Ohio State’s 2025 defensive end rotation:
Kenyatta Jackson, Caden Curry, C.J. Hicks and now Beau Atkinson, the former Tar Heel with a career 17 TFLs, 11 sacks and 39 pressures
Not too shabby
Only one of these guys is still with the team they originally signed with.
Also, Ohio State could end up playing 3 of them in 2025 at their new homes.
Ohio State kicked off its CFP run last year by harassing Nico Iamaleava and Tennessee.
On Nov. 15 a new look Buckeyes defense will get a chance to do it again. Only this time, Iamaleava will be in a UCLA jersey.
Julian Sayin’s best throw of the day and a great catch by Mylan Graham.
Aaron Scott’s coverage was pretty solid too.
Ohio State’s spring game (and the spring in general) showed me what I needed to see.
The guy we think is up next showed us why he’s up next.
Ok, so who’s ready to overreact to whatever we see from Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz today?
The SEC on top of the basketball world

More impressive freshman:
Cooper Flagg or Jeremiah Smith?
The most interesting storyline about Ohio State’s quarterback battle isn’t about who looked better than who in Saturday.
It’s about a risky decision Ryan Day made so he can get the best evaluation possible on each of them.
Devin Sanchez on his mindset as a competitor as he starts his Ohio State career:
“I’m always gonna go out there and try to take what’s mine. If it’s out there, that means anybody can have it and I’m going to be the one who’s going to get it.”
Max Klare had 51 catches, 685 yards and 4 TDs last year. A stat line no Ohio State TE has ever had.
So why would he choose the Buckeyes?
“I have a vision of where I want to be as a tight end. I think this place gives me the best opportunity to do it.
Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class has added Louisiana native Blaine Bradford, the nation’s top safety and a 5-star recruit
Sonny Styles on Arvell Reese:
“I remember a lot of people talking about me being versatile. He’s just as versatile.”
Some testing numbers from Ohio State’s Pro Day
Will Howard throws to Carnell Tate at Ohio State’s Pro Day
C.J. Hicks:
“A lot of people think because I’m 240 I don’t have any power, but I can definitely run through somebody’s face if I need to”
Tavien St. Clair on what he learned from Will Howard and what his main focus is going through his first spring practice at Ohio State:
“The better leadership you have and the closer relationships you have, the longer it’ll take you”
Some quarterback observations from Ohio State’s first day of spring practice.
Just as Ryan Day said would happen, everybody worked with:
“We’re gonna evaluate everything. But specifically early on in the spring we wanna roll those guys the best we can."
Julian Sayin throws to Jeremiah Smith on Ohio State’s first day of spring practice
