It got me.

On the substance of the day, and as I’ve made clear here and in the piece, today was truly a crisis akin to January 6. What happened today is not sustainable and Trump must be removed from office. When the clock was ticking, I explained how 25 could be used bc of its immediate effect.
"open the fuckin' strait you crazy bastards"-- "a whole civilization will die tonight" -- "j/k"
we can't do this for another 3 years
BREAKING: Trump announces two week window for Congress to remove him from office
Warner talked about trying to convince GOP colleagues to speak up… this morning. Said a lot of politicians worry about “threats to their daughters” if they do. Man, I dunno. As a woman, I’d like to think I’d want my father to SAY SOMETHING
BTW the people who spent the last few years advocating for Palestine were clearly 100% right that normalizing war crimes and genocide there would just increase the likelihood of inhumane actions elsewhere. Just saying.
There's a marked difference in the statements that Democratic electeds are putting out now compared to this morning. Good.
So including a call to action for subordinates feels shockingly absent in most other statements I’ve seen and I hope they all echo AOC soon.
After Trump's latest genocidal utterances, I'm posting this again from Anaïs Nin’s diary from 1939-1944:
“America is in even greater danger because of its cult of toughness, its hatred of sensitivity, and someday it may have to pay a price for this, because atrophy of feeling creates criminals”.
just to be clear, everyone, when 8 pm EDT comes and goes, regardless of what does or does not happen, the president still threatened genocide and war crimes and we should still impeach, arrest, and try him
The President of the United States is publicly threatening to commit genocide.
For love of country, for the freedoms we cherish and for the values we hold dear, the House must immediately reconvene and vote to impeach Donald Trump.

Washington Post Trump warns ‘a whole civilization will die’ if Iran doesn’t make a deal The president had issued a deadline of 8 p.m. Eastern time for Iran to open up the Strait of Hormuz, pledging destruction by midnight if leaders don’t comply. April 7, 2026 at 9:22 a.m. EDT26 minutes ago 2 min
Completely unstable and perilous. The House must bring up impeachment articles, and the Senate needs to remove a president who wants to commit war crimes. We cannot sit idly by as Donald Trump threatens to end an entire civilization.
The rest of the world should probably collectively stand up to the U.S. right now, tbh
The President is openly threatening genocide. A crime against humanity. He must be removed from office.
The 25th Amendment must be invoked. If not, Congress has to do our damn job. Speaker Johnson, call us into session. War powers & impeachment. Remove this man from office.

I did not know this. I want more people to know this.
The common world, a shared reality in which we can test truth, include voices, and hold power to account, was never given to us. It was always built, and it can be built again, but only if we understand what we're building and why we lost it.
This is a shocking betrayal of people of NC and our state constitution. A bid to further entrench an underclass in a state that ranks near the very bottom in education already.

I've come to believe that waste and contamination are *the* key salient issue when it comes to fossil fuels.
I mean that practically, in that these substances are inescapably toxic and often cancer-causing.
But also politically. No one wants to live near them, once they understand what they are.
A striking fact I learnt researching my book: For those in the bottom half, much of the real wage growth between 1979 and 2019 happened over just 7 "tight" years.
For top wages, full employment wasn't a big deal. For bottom wages, it was the nearly the whole game.
So sorry Mark. I appreciate this breakdown and all of your breakdowns. You don’t deserve this kind of attention.
This 50 yr old woman spent 5 months in jail accused of a crime in a state she's never even been to, because Clearview AI misidentified her as the suspect.
A judge signed off on it, cops went along with it, no process in place to even question the AI.

In historical hindsight it will be obvious to everyone that failing to hold Israel to account for committing open genocide in Gaza functionally dissolved international rules of military conduct

Two of the journalists assassinated in South Lebanon this morning by Israel were Lebanese correspondents Ali Shoeib and Fatima Ftouni.
They become the 252nd and 253rd journalists killed by Israel in the last two years.
Unprecedented.

Everyone who works for the NYT — including my many friends — should be incredibly embarrassed by this statement.
The depths to which the NYT will go to back its agenda of challenging trans people's right to exist is horrifying, ongoing, and has caused very real and specific harms to trans people.
JK Rowling is calling women athletes men even after they pass genetic testing. People in her replies are talking about these women having “ambiguous” genitalia. We are in an extremely frightening moment for ALL women thanks to transphobia.
A colleague from Estonia lived here for six months. She could not believe that we live like this. The pharma commercials. The phone spam. The instore sales. She was so overstimulated.
💯
this means… **drum roll please**
This policy will act to disqualify CIS women.
