Red lily shaped flowers with a white strip down each petal atop green stems. There’s a birdbath and fence in the background.
The amaryllis are blooming. These are so fun. All from one bulb I picked out of someone’s composting.

You too!
Enjoy car shopping. I got to do that last year. Husband helped make it fun and funny.
A frittata, a pan of cornbread, a cheesy casserole and two bowls, one with chili, the other with sloppy Joe all sit on a black stove.
It was too cold to work in the yard (what’s up with 40*F in TX in April?) so I decided to do a little cooking to get ahead for the week.
We saw a new sloppy Joe sauce that promised what I remember from school lunches. We’ll see. I haven’t made sloppy Joe since our daughter was still living here
Mr Lincoln rose. I’ve had this bush more than 20 years and have nearly killed it twice and still it blooms.
Really laughed out loud at that one.
On my way to water the lawn. We’re not getting the rain we usually get in march. Hope this isn’t predictive of the year.
First poppy. I bought these on half price last week. They looked so sad but had lots of unopened blooms. Brought them home and perked them up and one has started to bloom.
Those were the days…
Happy anniversary!!
Tumble from my desk and I stumble to the kitchen
Try to find some supper ambition
And yawn and stretch and try to find a knife
Cut up some veg and a chunk of my finger
Fry a little meat, we’ll call that dinner
Cause I had to work today from nine to five.
Industrial strength breathe rite?
Same!
Pink stringy looking flowers on stems with leaves that are green on one side and pink on the other. It’s in front of a brown privacy fence.
This pink witch hazel must be one of the first things I put in the garden. It’s been moved several times and has found a new happy place.
That’s enough.
Me, man with gray beard in a red t shirt that says closed mondays. On the back of my outstretched hand is a green gecko lizard. Behind me is the plant I’m transporting him to.
Found this little guy while cleaning up plants yesterday. Gave him a ride to a nice plant. He must have liked it because he wouldn’t move and I finally had to push him a little
White flowers with yellow centers on stems of green leaves.
Orange blossoms. Time to get married?
Watching a pair of cardinals play in the birdbath. He dove in and went under and flung water everywhere. She’s much more timid and flits across the surface.
We sat on the deck last night with friends. There was ash in the air from a fire near here. And so so so much pollen. Husband and I both need an allergy pill
We’re having people over for drinks and apps this afternoon and I’m diligently trying to clean the house and make us look presentable.
It’s gonna take a lot of polish.
Wow! Those are striking!
Headed to the funeral home to pick up a friends ashes. I guess that makes me a friend to the end?
Again, not a drag queen
Presenter-‘We can see that incrementality come to fruition.’
Me-What did she call my fruit?
♥️
I read it again a couple years ago. It is a wonderful book!
Thanking my higher power for that lasagna I made a few weeks ago and froze. It’s in the oven now. Tonight I’ll only need to make a couple of salads.
It does. And it’s the hardest gift you can give. It takes real strength to be there til the end.
A green gecko rests on an unfolding leaf in the sun. There are multiple other leaf stems sticking up from the pot
Taking the sun.
That first meal they don’t want is the hardest for caregivers. It’s a tipping point. A sign that things have changed. My best to both your dads and to you and your family.
