This is now almost at 10,000 signatures - it should be 100,000, a million - five million.
Sexual violence has no place in our society and yet we demonstrably enable it in every single sphere - including the “justice” system.

Petitions are addressed to the House of Representatives and ask that the House do something about a policy or law, or put right a local or private concern.

A system that consistently protects perpetrators and undermines survivors is a biased, corrupt system.
How many headlines do we see where a judge is protecting a perpetrator’s good name, their career? How many actions are framed as a judgement error?

So do I because the underlying message is “it’s your fault, you’re not trying hard enough to reduce costs, be self reliant” so it’s not the failed electricity model, the price gouging supermarkets and greedflation - it’s you not growing crops, weaving your own clothes and chopping wood. People have been deliberately disenfranchised for the last three years, and vulnerable communities in particular have been left to it since time immemorial - it’s unsurprising when people centrist parties need votes from don’t buy in.

We’ve just spent three years actively targeting people’s faith in government. Services like MSD, health are worse because we refuse to fund them. Everything is more expensive.
I genuinely hope it’s not the case, but would not be surprised if people are so disenfranchised they don’t show up to vote.

Exactly this. Read it and thought about the time my landlord refused to put in double glazing when it was suggested by her new property manager that it might make the house warmer and the heating bills less - she fired the property manager 😂
