We encourage children to play because it helps them form social connections, learn, and develop problem solving and creativity. Play works the same for adults; we just feel obligated to justify the work because we enjoy it, and work can’t be “fun,” of course!

That is meaningful work. My kids have been listening to me rail against AI for years, and thankfully they seem to be avoiding outsourcing their critical thinking. Fingers crossed it continues.

As long as there is also an area for sitting and chatting adjacent to the dancing, go for it. Those with differing needs can enjoy socializing how they choose that way. Just make sure you communicate dress expectations/theme early!

It’s not about the product, it’s about learning to think and work.
