The combination of the script and the acting creates the rapid-fire rat-a-tat-tat of masterful comic dialogue. In the first hour of the show, at least, there is a kind of effervescence in the dialogue that delights. The pace never lags and the comic timing is pitch perfect.”

It is a theatrical version of Karl Marx’s famous remark, “History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.” And what a farce it is.

I'm one of those trans women. I worked ground ops for Artemis I.
I am torn between celebrating the success of my friends and peers and grieving how my dream of working for NASA was shattered by hateful assholes in Tallahassee
Oh no 😥
My coworker’s kid was playing a Desert Bus level of Geometry Dash and she had a hell of a time explaining “the Desert Bus level is based on Desert Bus: a Real Thing I Promise Exists. There’s a whole fundraiser about it. This is why Jennie never stops knitting.”
Baffled that the seller of our house used the garage as a gym because it SNOWS here. Then we realized it wasn’t deep enough for a PRIUS. Board of Appeals made fun of our tiny garage before approving our expansion 🤣
It’s wild they talked to Jayne at all
This conversation was all on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She was able to negotiate a 350 page book with a release date in late October followed by a 900 page book in mid-January. I think it could be worth reaching out to her. I really like this idea and she might too
She was upset that 1300 pages is too long for book binding and in an age of ereaders and audiobooks AND when people are starved for community I think it IS the right time to rethink the shape of publishing. She’s sold 75 million books and people show up for release parties.
@hankgreen.bsky.social Dear Hank, 4 months ago you talked about changing the shape of book publishing and a few weeks ago Sarah J Maas expressed serious frustration over the expectation that she compromise her writing to fit the most marketable book size.
Dec 2024 I was on a Jet Blue flight back from DC that left the MINUTE before the pilot wouldn’t be allowed to fly. We were delayed 6 hours, spent over 3 hours on the tarmac after landing, and the next day the only way back was DC to Florida to Boston. They’re a mess
Chris Grace is the only ethical way to be Scarlett Johansson and I will not accept any alternatives
Anyway it’s going to be INTERESTING running a production about American anti-vax culture while a ton of tourists are here for the world cup…
I wish Magicon Amsterdam was one week earlier so I could get a sweet deal on flying in the opposite direction of FIFA traffic both ways
What’s your favorite video game for when you fall and break your elbow and only have one good hand? Asking for a husband.
What is wrong with you
I compare it to playing a video game with DK bongos or driving a real car with an RC car controller. Allistic people have the right controls. I’m very good at using the bongos but it’s VERY difficult and I’m self conscious about it and everyone deserves story mode
but standing in line glaring at everyone who gets anything more than a dark roast bc they’re forcing you to spend more time in a community space… the point could have been that crossing picket lines is the problem
I read a breakdown of the article on another site and apparently they’re saying everyone is lonely bc your super specific handcrafted drink order is too selfish and individualistic…
I’m sorry I entered the conversation clumsily! I wish I could read the article. I used to think I cared a lot and then I realized full cast audiobook producers could easily solve /my/ problem at least.
Sorry! I don’t have access to the article, but it came out a couple days after ACOTAR announced two books w release dates and no other info. SJM put out a long podcast interview and dodged that question in a weird way that got people talking about it a lot.
“WHY WONT THEY TELL US THE POV” is basically code for “Why wont they confirm my shiiiiip” (I’m also frustrated about this, but I’m just like “marketing is gonna tell us what marketing is gonna tell us” 🤷🏻♀️)
Most of the discourse is connected to the ship war- readers assuming the next books will be dual-pov and those two characters would confirm a ship
I mean none of the discourse is about 1st or 3rd. Acotar notably has 3 books in 1st with one perspective, 1 book with multi-pov in 3rd person, and 1 with dual-pov in 3rd person.
I like the full cast audiobooks because it helps me distinguish between characters, but in ACOSF it was frustrating when I couldn’t tell whose perspective I was getting. Authors try to signal that pretty fast, but I prefer each VA narrating their character’s perspective.
The discourse is about which character’s perspective we’ll get, not 1st vs 3rd. One huge difference is full cast audiobooks. If you have dual 3rd person narration @graphicaudio.bsky.social casts one narrator as the narrator for both perspectives.
This is your reminder to look at any potential home at night just in case the cemetery across the street went WAY too hard lighting statues and not only do those lights shine into several rooms… they also cast a terrifying 2.5 story shadow of a soldier on the front of your house
Idk if you follow “Weather is Happening” but they post chaotic weather forecasts for greater Boston with “REPENT” plastered all over them and that’s been helping me get through this 😆 (pride flag profile pic so it’s like the opposite of arguing natural disasters are caused by queer people)
If you “too chaotic no thank you’d” my last post: I’m gonna get almost 2 feet of snow again
