It was actually asked in parliament. There is a lot of momentum behind this, hopefully it will get somewhere.

55 trucks a day in and out is also their figure. Only 3% of limestone fit for building, everything else being crushed for aggregates.
8 jobs, at the site, and they say they want to retain existing staff, so even that won't be 8 new jobs.

Issues are that it is not in the middle of the countryside, it is far too near homes & primary school, the main A5 road & surrounding roads cannot take increased volume of HGVs, health issues from dust, there are questions over actual demand for the limestone for building & quality of the stone etc
Limestone, but there will also be a recycling plant onsite for recycling inert building and construction waste and also mention of a ready mix concrete plant. It's less than 300m from a new housing estate. Worries are silica in dust, traffic (110 truck movements a day), noise & wildlife impact.
In my local, rural, community we are fighting against a large quarry being started on what currently are green fields. It would be great if my followers could follow this campaign account on @stopnewquarry.bsky.social and repost some of the posts. Thank you 🙏

I've stopped looking at lists now as got added to some other weird ones, like people blocking others who follow back etc.
Social media can be a dark rabbit hole at times if you are worried about mental health.
It's best to keep your feet firmly in the real world while dipping into the online world
