Depends on the particular animals. But there's usually one that's more vocal in general.
That can be obscured by the others hearing complaints and coming to join in/loiter in case something comes of it.

Sorry to hear that. You've had lots of good advice here, but I want to acknowledge the courage in sharing that.
You're not alone. Even when it seems that way.
Who called it potato salad instead of Murphy slaw?
No, just some wordplay that rather relies on him being in No.10.
(I never realised how much this hobby could create some really perverse incentives!)
Lurn are langwidge!
It used to be there in older editions, but Jakob Maria Mierscheid removed it in the 1970s.
That's nice, but I'm sure you can't be in any case. I know of at least three just in my county.
There's also a sneaky comeback. Job 3:2 in the NIV is rendered simply as "He said."
And if you get me started on the way the text got divided into chapters and verses (and the unintended consequences of that) we could be here all night.
I'd just like to say I'd appreciate it if Starmer could stay on as PM for a while. Not because I think he's terribly good at the job, but I have this clue in draft...
Bravo. What's left? Radio Times? Woman's Weekly? The Sun "Junior Coffee Time Easy Clues"? ๐
Sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself.
I read it as a team pulling an all-nighter to find legal grounds to object to something, and succeeding somewhere in the small hours.
Not awful, but I'd definitely have it marked for another look.

It's a great clue.
I confess I dislike:
[Imperative] [fodder] is [def]
As Karol mentioned. The cryptic grammar is off. "For" or "To get" would be fine. But it can work perfectly well without the link word, which would resolve the issue to everyone's satisfaction.
Thank you. Ah, the pain in bottom! I have a soft spot for that one (oo-er!) because I was filling the grid and practically saw the clue fully formed when I looked at the word.
I must be getting better at something, or maybe just a one-track mind. ๐
No worries. By the end of the day, I couldn't have told you who'd seen it and who hadn't. ๐
Ha! I've seen ยฃ100 questions harder than that.
Thanks. It's not going to surprise anyone that it was the seed for the rest of the puzzle, so I'm glad it landed well.
That's VIKTOR ORBAN.

Thank you Viktor for providing some surprisingly useful fodder, possibly your greatest achievement.
Go and get some crossers! ๐
So many people have helped me with encouragement, advice and corrections that I couldn't possibly name everyone. Particular thanks to:
@mycrossword.co.uk for a great site.
@boatmancryptics.co.uk for his brilliant course.
@coot.bsky.social for his endless patience, sense and good humour.
I'm delighted to be making my debut in the Independent today as Nepeta. Sample clues:

No idea. As I can't find lots of hits referring to the "Whistling Church of Roupy", I'm guessing not.
