But it was in the newspapers at the time, and it was mentioned in a parliamentary debate by MP Rachel Gilmour.

20th May. In Birmingham. Come and listen to me speak about the state of politics and the class dynamics underpinning it.
This is pretty much what Alastair Campbell says.
One like doesn't seem like enough.
Grew up skint, not poor. The constant background thoughts about money has gone away a couple of times in my life and it makes such a difference from literally counting the pennies every day. Every time I buy something these days I take positive pleasure in not needing to check my balance first.
What a lovely venue to have it in.

Both of these increases (this and the previous one) are over 2 years. How do you think doctors have been able to get this increase but nurse, midwives, admin and cleaning staff - collectively far larger numbers - have not?
It seems like you're saying, you've been underpaid all this time and instead of giving you an uplift to the equivalent of what you earned, relative to the cost of living 15 years ago, we'll offer another less than inflation increase and complain you're being unreasonable.
52% of doctors completing FY2 couldn't get a job, yet there's 130k vacancies. The shortage is smaller in nursing (30k) and midwifery (2.5k), both have shorter training and less debt. The BMA supports other staff in demanding fair pay. And you think they shouldn't even ask?
And they're still paid £38k to start with. What do you think people ought to be paid for a highly skilled job that requires five years of training before going into practice, then 2 years of effectively apprenticeship, before specialism.
Thatcher also used to treat strikers like naughty children, it didn't exactly help.
Yes, their consistent privatisation contracting has chipped away at what the NHS can do and funnelled NHS money into private business such as Palantir. This has doubled since 2010. And that is set to continue under Streeting.
Is it a bonus being a good communicator if some of your ideas are hateful? After the way he has treated the issue of trans healthcare, personally, I will never trust his judgement.
It's been cold!

Pretty standard unfortunately. I don't think attitudes really started to shift until the Orkney child abuse scandal. Likewise, broadcasting a police interview with a rape victim in 1982 was what finally changed things - huge public outrage. I was a young teenager then. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p...
There's a longer piece on this here, and whatever the judge said it's interesting that local people were angry and disgusted. scepticpeg.wordpress.com/2020/10/08/c...

Universities already do this kind of thing (widening participation, engagement / funding project with the local community, volunteering, internships), which is clearly passing by whoever wrote this article.
Congratulations! Hope you are very happy together.
I return time and again to Agatha Christie BBC audiobooks. There are deaths, they don't feel the same as the death of a main character in a novel. Probably shouldn't be soothing but, I can drift off to sleep to the voice of David Suchet.
I used to really admire him because of his involvement with Mosaic and Netscape, really pioneering software. But this makes him look like vacuous.
Yes, I have heard awful things about the rejection letters students with visas get if they ask to bring family here. Not just a 'no' but casual character assassination and performative cruelty.
Really upsetting, both that it happened and how it was dealt with by the courts and the party.
Appalling. The trolls among many others should be ashamed.
Another small suggestion - if you like doing paid online surveys and tests, don't participate in anything which is testing AI to improve it.
