OMG I love Pick and Cheese! I think that was the location I went to as well, Seven Dials right?
I think it ended up being one of the most expensive dinners of our trip to London that year, it's so easy to lose count of how many you've grabbed.
No regrets, we're probably going again next time!
Posts by Steve Woodson, CPACC
Absolutely, and I have this open too which helps with trip duration, where they are, how fast they're going, etc.

Finally got around to adding Bluesky to my blog...
and then blogged about it.
Built on 11ty, supports Likes, Reposts, and Replies (with basic threading). Lots of implementations out there, but mine grabs once per build, not every page load on the client. ๐

Been fiddling with my blog and came across this post I actually forgot I published, I think it has a similar sentiment so I wanted to share.

Thanks! I'm already feeling the intertia of "well that's done" and shifting focus to something else, trying to combat that by gauging interest so I have people to be beholden to if I don't do it ๐
An example of the Bluesky reactions section I added to my blog, shows up at the bottom below the post content. This example includes 2 likes and 1 repost where I display the clickable avatar of the person, followed by 1 reply (by me) that happened to have a threaded response too.
All the cool kids were adding Bluesky reactions to their personal sites and I felt left out, so I finally made some time to get it added to mine. Supports Likes, Reposts, and Replies (with some basic thread support).
Any interest in a blog post about how I did it for my Eleventy-based site?
Over the past 19 years, my team @cloudfour.com have shared over 600 articles and resources with the #WebDesign community, absolutely free.
But now, our design practice is in danger without your help. Please read and share: cloudfour.com/thinks/more-...

"Just do it anyway" is advice I've begrudgingly given too, if colleagues don't care to learn a11y then they won't care to call me out for addressing it either.
Lots of great resources in here, RPG-inspired roles is a novel way to consider how to show up and do the work despite lack of support.
I was just there and realized I was so close to being around for one of these!
The people demand a part 2 with @heydonworks.com !
Safe travels and best of luck on the presentation!
Hope you enjoy the music while out there as well
Intro slide off the presentation, "game on!" On a green screened monitor
#SotB26 final presentation by @cassiecodes.bsky.social called "Game on!"
A really fun canvas game made with JS and GSAP, started with rectangles and some physics. Cassie layered on more features one at a time until it was full of features like tasks, enemies, and energy!
Slide with a bar chart showing the differences in sizes for "Zingg CSS Minification". Four bars "Original", "Minify Only", "Zip only", "Minify + Zip" each showing smaller than the one previous. Minify+Zip is about a quarter of Original.
#SotB26 "Lessons from Building for the Bottom of the Web"by @mikehall314.bsky.social is next.
A fascinating deep dive of a project that necessitated a 128kb limit to all page content over the wire + including images! A good reminder to respect the users time and bandwidth.
Slide off the talk titled "Temporal", 3 bullets below "New DateTime library in JavaScript", "Replacement for Date", "Strongly typed"
Now at #SotB26 is Jason Williams talking about Temporal DateTime.
Hearing more about the history, why it's taken so long, the issues it fixes, and the challenges of implementation was fascinating.
Seeing some of the cool things we can do with this actually makes me excited to work with dates!
Slide introducing the year 2008 when Jekyll was introduced, the seventh iteration of the image comparison component in the presentation.
Next up is @zachleat.com with "Itโs 10PM
do you know where your JavaScript is?"
14 iterations of an image comparison component over the years, using available technologies from that year. Really illustrated how things have evolved, and how imagination can really make the difference!
Slide from Chad's presentation saying "You can go your entire career without ever talking to a disabled person"
Third session of #SotB26 is @kitation.co.uk with "Plateau of Accessibility Compliance".
Interesting comparisons with Accessibility of video games via Game Accessibility Guidelines (GAG), like how they share good examples, and real spaces with real people.
Focus on recentering disability!
Slide from Fiona's presentation showing three nested circles showing the central circle as the comfort zone, growth zone in the middle, then panic zone outside. To illustrate the differences between them.
Next up at #SotB26 is Fiona Safari's first presentation, "The Art of Connection". Sharing more detail around introversion, a topic near and fear to me as an introvert myself.
Three zones and pursuing the growth zone - somewhere between comfort and panic. Great practical advice!
First up at #SotB26 is @bram.us giving us a rundown of the latest features available for CSS Anchor Positioning.
Way more uses than I thought, and way less JavaScript as a result, doesn't get much better than that!

The FCC just opened public comments on SpaceX's plan to launch a million satellites to do AI compute in space. Under the current proposal, an environmental review won't be required. Please consider submitting a public comment to oppose this damaging plan.

This is such a great read!
"Decades ago, maybe life was less intense, and people with these little differences had a little more time and space in society to just be."
This speaks to something I've been mulling over, everything being so much faster and more intense now has to factor in right?
I dunno, that sounds like a win to me
This is a great read!
Really nice reminder that there are many kinds of social networks out there, any of which have the ability to change your life.
Great things happen in the small spaces, like DMs and group chats. You don't always have to post publicly to build a solid network.
Congratulations!
The excitement of each new user and subscription never dims, nor does the anxiety of a new release. They're all reminders that this is something you care deeply about.
I just got sucked into smallandnearlysilent.com/bicross/daily/ from @eli-oat.bsky.social and it was a great brain teaser, here's my results for today

That'll be me except the opposite order, SotB is the start of my holiday. See you there!
One thing that helped me with lack of physical separation has been a routine before and after work. I have a morning routine that includes changing into business-appropriate clothes and that helps me get into that mindset before I sit down to work.
OMG this is so cool! Can you share the artist? I've been considering something similar for an upcoming anniversary and really like this style.
My goodness, where do you find them all?
I do not envy those logistics, but the end results are so worth it! Please do share if/how you refine the process over time, I find this kind of stuff really fascinating.
