fan comic of Hazel and Gat from Saiyuki. Hazel hands Gat his wallet. "Here, knock yourself out." Gat: "...Why?" Hazel: "Go and have some fun, Gat. Do whatever you want." Gat looks disappointed. He thinks, "I want you to look at me...to talk honestly with you." Gat turns to leave. "...OK. I'll be back later." Hazel waves and makes a noise of acknowledgement.
Hazel tilts his head down while looking conflicted and sad. Gat goes shopping. "I'm not sure what to do, so I'll purchase supplies. You want me to 'go have fun' as though it'll make us feel better. I want to understand you. I guess I'm starting to." A young boy gets Gat's attention. "Hey there, Mister! You look awfully sad." Gat looks at the boy. The boy says, "Don't worry, sir. It'll be over soon."
A BANG is heard from the buildings behind Gat. Gat turns toward the sound. "...I may finally be realizing..." He touches one of his guns. The boy yells, "Hey, wait!" Gat has started running. "...what I want to do with this borrowed life.."
OKAY SO basically I have an idea for a fic about Hazel and Gat not long after they start traveling together, so they're still figuring out how they work, but also run into big trouble. I drew this comic (instead of writing for god knows what reason) as a sort of summary of what would happen
