You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.

Every time a woman runs for president I hear that she’s too emotional and unstable to make wartime decisions, unlike the men in charge who make really reasonable decisions like bombing kids to death, starting water wars, and poisoning the entire planet
"The Islamists oppose women getting an education," I mutter, as I aim my missile at the girls school
The violence being done to language & truth by this craven, mealy-mouthed shitstain is second only to the actual vicious & unjustifiable violence to which he’s signing his name.

Not my project, just came across it as I was doing research on Canadian LNG expansion. Glad it was as funny and useful to you as it was to me!

There's more investigative journalism in this piece of satire than I've seen of any coverage of this project. Share widely with other Canadians

Finished and now I do not know what to do with myself
Una you sprouted an everlasting place inside my heart.
Also @alixeharrow.bsky.social in awe of time loop insanity the plotting must have taken eons. So tight.
the everlasting: we can escape the story fascism fabricates
election wins: yes
On Chapter 8 trying to pace myself, because I want to savour not devour. I've read and loved all of Harrow's work (short, long, in-between) and can already say that this one, this one is The One. I'm ten years old again and hugging a book to my chest. I'm supposed to be working but reading instead.
democrats of all stripes should be rallying around kat abughazaleh asap. it doesnt matter where you stand ideologically. trying to jail dissenters is fundamentally unamerican and 100% fascist. democratic leaders at all levels should be making noise about it. you dont need a poll or focus group.
I love this show so much. It fulfils such a deep sense of wonder. After finishing season 1 we immediately rewatched the entire thing, could not get enough.

Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

Wow this one really got to me. Sitting here staring blankly at the wall of my apartment.
Two books, published by Undertow Publications, lie on a wooden table: The Best Weird Fiction of the Year Volume One by Michael Kelly, and Uncertain Sons and Other Stories by Thomas Ha. Both have beautiful evocative covers.
Thank you @undertow.bsky.social! I'm excited to burrow myself into these on the Canadian long weekend.
My weird fiction exposure so far has been Vandermeer, Mieville, and mostly older works and I'm trying to read more widely and discover new authors because: what a gorgeous genre.
I loved Bring Her Back so much (and was very shaken by it emotionally). Thank you for the Borderlands suggestion!
QUESTIONABLE DESIGN?! is that ever the understatement of the year. By which I mean: that is stunning. I will very much be tuning in 🕯️⚔️
they are destroying US climate science on purpose, and it hurts my heart. but take it from an MIT-trained nerdass:
all most of us need to know is that we have to stop burning stuff
stop burning stuff for heat
stop burning stuff for make car go
stop burning stuff for power
we have the tools
Yesss my reason for heading to WOTS!
Canada Post “lost” 1 billion dollars last year?
How about, “it cost Canadians 1 billion dollars to have a national postal service” which works out to costing about $25 a year per person (population of Canada in 2024 = 40 million). Seems like a pretty reasonable cost to me.
Just got refunded for my @kneecapceol.bsky.social tickets in @toronto.ca and am absolutely livid that they are barred entry in Canada @vgasparro.bsky.social you are the one acting contrary to Canadian values and chose the side of genocide and repression of free speech.
Holy holy
