My bff Beth played Huckleberry Finn & my forever friend Fred played Injun Joe. We ended up doing a medley of songs instead of the whole play bc we ran out of time in the school year.

At 9 yo at camp I played Peter Pan (singing, yes, but no flying)
At 6th grade graduation, I played Tom Sawyer.
Adam Smith was an assignment, haha, no joy involved. Downhill from there as far as my thespian skills

I had to play Adam Smith in 10th grade social studies //ugh
No costumes, just had to prove we knew our assigned person. I can’t remember a thing about my performance, just the teacher (Ms Rubine) & the room

Closer than those of us who chose the written word and not music!
