This is for a hobby thing, so Iβm not super annoyed and Iβll simply continue tomorrow.
Makes you think about the bigger picture nonetheless.
The future!
This will be a thing, for sure. Pay for more MCP calls.
"I'm really excited about access control for agents."
We caught up with @pst.blue at #KubeCon EU. He's diving into how the cloud native ecosystem is shaping infrastructure for the agentic age. #CloudNative #Agents

99.5% is slightly better than 3.5 hours in 28 days if weβre talking uptime. Really not great.
We caught up with @mauilion.dev at #KubeCon EU. He was fired up about @rejekts.io pulling 220 people when sponsorship dried up, and noticing AI hype tempering with more energy going into infra, like virtualization. #Kubernetes #CloudNative

We caught up with @bwplotka.dev at KubeCon EU. He's excited about semantic conventions across OTel and Prometheus finally becoming practical, and AI tools changing how open source is built. #KubeCon #OpenTelemetry #Prometheus

A historic step for profiling within the OpenTelemetry project!
We caught up with Felix earlier this week at KubeCon EU, and TODAY he's presenting on the OpenTelemetry profiling signal reaching alpha, together with Florian.

Profiling as a first-class signal in OTel is huge. Don't miss it!

The @Prometheus.io Contributor Fest is underway!
Let's learn how to contribute and review PRs for Prometheus!
For the next hour and a half (until 16:30) I'll be at the Prometheus project booth!
Come around to talk Prometheus, SLOs and more or just say hi. See you!

All of this runs through the colima MCP server in Claude Code.
claude mcp add-json colima '{"command":"npx","args":["-y","kubernetes-mcp-server@latest"],"env":{"KUBECONFIG":"'${HOME}'/.kube/config"}}'
I've allow listed `mcp__colima__*`. Local VM, fully isolated. π€
kubectl exec -n observability jaeger-all-in-one-<hash> -- wget -qO- localhost:16686/jaeger/api/services
curl isn't available, but wget is.
kubectl exec -n observability prometheus-k8s-0 -- wget -qO 'localhost:9090/api/v1/query?query=up{job="api"}'
kubectl exec -n db cockroachdb-cockroachdb-0 -- cockroach sql --insecure -d database -e "SELECT * FROM table LIMIT 10;"
For local development you don't need a dedicated MCP server for CockroachDB, Prometheus, or Jaeger.
Just exec into the container and run commands directly. SQL in cockroach, wget the Prometheus HTTP API, same for Jaeger. π
π€ Using the Polar Signals MCP just got even easier. Check out how to use it with your favorite AI agent. π§

Unfortunately, I won't be joining #FOSDEM.
I got sick late last week and decided not to contribute to FOSDEM flu and canceled my trip.
Have fun everyone! Next conference!
Let's scale Pyrra even further!
Imagine not having continuous profiling and sleeping on this. Wild.
Happy to share that I've been nominated to the Vortex Technical Steering Committee! It's been fun and productive switching to Vortex from Parquet as our storage format @polarsignals.com and I'm excited to continue contributing to the Vortex project.

Next.js 16 + turbopack took our frontend builds from 5-7m down to just over 2m. This means faster speed of iteration in development and faster CI.
Performance is UX. Performance is DX. Performance is a feature.
