I got an Instagram ad for a Kickstarter game project. Looks cool, I backed it.
I keep getting ads for it, which presumably costs them money? So... Is clicking "hide all ads from x" the right action so their ad spend gets spent elsewhere?? Or did I just punish their ad in the ~algorithm~ ?

Crazy!
How's your Christmas eve going? I broke some of the games on santatracker.google.com so right now it's last minute fixes and code pushes...
!!!
Have you played Golden Sun? Those games are pretty fun :)
A sort of crazy thing in the latest Nintendo direct is they announced a planet gravity Suika game, and I literally made that last year

This is AI, I've seen this before
For what it's worth, the last time I used Facebook it was

Actual meaningful post from a friend about a major life event
So they don't seem to be doing much for the friend's posts either
Professional mode doesn't cost anything, right?
A few years ago I made a version of Wordle where you can only ever guess each word once (unless it's that day's word).
At the start it forces you to be creative, but it eventually gets super hard as it tests the limits of your vocabulary/recall skills.
Kitt getting to 993 days is very impressive!
Awesome!! My family has given up because it was too hard haha
No Repeat Wordle stats, with 3585 words guessed.
@jezzamon.bsky.social 3585 five letter words. Some of the ones I used are *weird* ๐
Does anyone know what Miyazaki actually thinks about "Ghibli filters" and such? A lot of people are pulling out the 2016 quote which is about a very different circumstance and not really applicable to now.
Probably more relevant would be just his thoughts on extremely derivative artwork
@distraction.engineer Hey Mike, I've been thinking that this Ludum Dare could be a good one for me to sit out of participating and do something like help with support requests or other behind the scenes stuff.
Is that something that would be helpful?? (Feel free to message me)
I finally updated my website with a link to my Bluesky profile. The Twitter link has a good animation too haha: jezzamon.com
It's Gamer time
I'll be at GDC next week! Should be fun :D
Wahoo!!!
PS: I ๐ you, the #LDJam and #GameDev community.
While I still have emails to catch up on ๐, *yes*, I am going ahead with the plan to run Ludum Dare 57 on April 4th weekend, as originally scheduled!
I'll be working the announcement for the better part of the day.
Thanks again. ๐
Woo!!!
I would love to figure out if there is a way to build the group of core maintainers like that article talks about!
I want to raise my hand too in being happy to commit time to Ludum Dare (perhaps for the 2026 Ludum Dares?)
There's a lot of entitlement... sorry you have to be on the receiving end of that. I think lots of people view Ludum Dare from a consumer point of view and don't think too much more.
Something interesting I learned as an Australian living in the US is that Australia doesn't have quite the same zoning problems but still has a housing crisis. There it seems like even without zoning nonsense it's still really hard to build enough housing
Bitwise or!
I'm on-call for Google Santa Tracker tonight!
The map just opened up: looks like Santa will leave in just one hour!

Here's how #AdventOfCode is going for me:
Started challenges in Haskell, which was interesting to learn. I also learned that it's a pain for computationally complicated questions
So then I switched back to comfort languages:
TS, Go, Kotlin, and then did one in python too
Congrats, and thanks for sharing this! Appreciated the read just to learn a little more about the person behind all the projects
