Rafaela & Duran continue to be the names I hear about in trade stuff the most, with a hint of Bello recently. Abreu stuff seems more like outside wishful thinking, but who knows what Bres is thinking. Recent idea discussed was trading for a stopgap 2B/3B and trading an outfielder for a top prospect.

Quick note, you said that Donovan was a righty in the article but he bats Left, throws right.

Wasn’t that a $10M buyout?

I was also wondering if he just missed sneaking in. Thanks for explaining! Can’t say you have the hometown bias with your process which I respect!

Surprised Narvaez didn’t make it in your top 5 considering his position and elite defense

Breslow says the team’s priorities this offseason are the addition of middle-of-the-order power and a starter who could pitch either alongside or right behind Crochet. He said the Sox won’t be spending much time on Nos 4 or 5 starters.

Breslow said Story is the shortstop for 2026, and the team feels confident in his defensive ability at the position.

Breslow was slightly circumspect about the team’s interest in Bregman (or anyone else), saying that he had “a massively positive impact” on several aspects of the organization but stopping short of saying directly that the team would want him back. Again, that was in the context of Breslow…

Except for a select few, every player on the roster should be on the table in trades to improve the Red Sox - The Boston Globe This offseason does not require a seismic shift, but chief baseball officer Craig Breslow should be bold in trying to improve the rotation and add power to the lineup.

On Baseball: As the Red Sox look at improving their roster, nobody should be off the table in trade talks.

Well, except for a few guys.

Schlittler threw 90% fastballs, 10% breaking balls.

All 18 swing and misses on fastballs. 12 K, 0 BB.

Maybe the most shove it down your throat and nothing you can do about it pitching performances in baseball history.

Guardians are officially in. The Red Sox’ Sunday scenarios:
1) Sox win. They are # 5 seed, playing at whichever of the Blue Jays and Yankees loses the division.
2) Sox lose, Guardians lose. Sox are # 5 seed, playing at whichever of TOR/NYY loses the division.

Abreu said he’s a full-go to play as much as the team wants and wherever (RF or DH) he’s needed. “I’m ready. That’s the most important thing.”

Interesting development in Worcester, where David Sandlin will be used in a bullpen role this week. He’s been developed as a starter but has high-octane stuff that could make him a potential late-season contributor in the big leagues.
