What do you all make of this move by Meta?

Going to be doing some in depth reviews on fantasy books soon. Starting with Sanderson, Rothfuss and Weeks.

I'm not a fan of the new pre-release strategy.. so many companies now release games that still need a lot of development.

Does anyone have suggestions for the best book related podcasts? Podcasts that talk about the industry, talk to authors, etc.

I feel like Sci Fi authors say the same thing a decade or two after they release a book 😂

I agree, but I do think the balance is going to start shifting. Children today are going to be learning in some of the coolest ways!

It does seem that the average engagement per user is waay higher here than almost any other platform

Honestly, the games coming out of indie devs today are absolutely mind blowing. Recently got stuck into Manor Lords, what a banger.

Give one child a historically accurate video game, and a second a history text book. I could tell you who'll know more after a week.

My concern is that they've made it incredibly easy to create a bot. It's almost advertised on their API documentation.

I received advice that relates to startups, but maybe there's some application here: find the top 10 fastest growing markets, pick two or three that really interest you, spend time there to see if you love it, and only then commit to building.

I think the AI companies are focusing on the wrong aspects. There is so much opportunity to help an author monetize their work in different ways.
