A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!
Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....
Even the shadows are too much light on some.
Fun fact: If you make a pilgrimage to The Crossroads (Clarksdale Ms.) there are2 things to see there: a monument at the spot Robert Johnson is said to have sold his soul, and a great little delta blues museum, that was sponsored by ZZ Top. They really just love The Blues.
Hang on a minute, I don't remember this bit in the Bayeux not-a-tapestry... ;)
Wait, the racist abuse was coming from X? You're telling me people on the Nazi playground are being Nazis?
Thoughts and prayers for @positivespurs.coys.social in these difficult times.
It'd be dumb to think that's gonna magically change for the remaining games. So once avoiding relegation was no longer in Spurs hands alone, but required outside help, which happened with the loss last week, it was probably over.
I've been here since the last game.
It wasn't that Spurs lost, but everything else that happened during that match last week. Its clear Spurs cannot count on getting ANY breaks this season. Refs won't give proper calls, close shots won't fall, and key players will keep getting injured. ...
I used to be a big believer in blasting the ball out of bounds. Got yelled at a lot for it.
Probably rightly most of the time, but still that wouldn't have happened to me.
I came up playing on an integrated team in Oklahoma right after Jim Crow came down, so this ish is obvious to me.
IMHO there's a special place in Soccer Hell for white players who dive around black opponents.
FWIW, there's also a convertible wave thing.
The thing that really struck me... These SNCC kids were real life superheroes. Braver, because they had no powers, no protection. They just helped save America from itself, then went back to school and lived out their lives like anybody else. Any 80yo you see could have been one of them.
There's a good bit in the book Freedom Summer about the abuse training SNCC volunteers were put through before being allowed to go to Mississippi.

Ah, it was Exodus. Note the futuristic bolo tie.
Totally agree. In fact, I remember making this point in the discord when I saw a sci-fi game trailer with what looked like a native character. I'll go see if I can dig it up...
Yeah, it seemed nearly like a trick question.
if you're going to call the pope a dumb bitch i'm going to need you to be out nailing papers to church doors
I reckon JD Vance is in the running for the FIFA Diplomacy Prize.
Then I guess my name is "Nothing Doesn't Eat Vegtables"
Well, they appear to be on the verge of being able to buy him back.

"That's a little bit naughty from Brobbey."
Fundraiser for librarian Luanne James, who stood up to her rightwing library board that demanded she remove kids books with any trace of LBGTQ+ characters or content.
"I will not comply."
They sacked her and cops escorted her out.
She's a hero. This banned author just donated.
Maine only has 2 House seats (same as the # of Senate seats), so the distinction there isn't very pronounced.
Just because Nazis liked skull and crossbones symbology doesn't mean all pirates were Nazis.
One could still argue thinking similar things are cool that Nazis think are cool is a bit of a red flag tho. Kinda try-hardy.
IIRC, Butigeg ran rather well in 2020, and even MAGA folks seem to respect him.
