Being a member of Living Streets is very important - pedestrians need protecting and Living Streets does this so well. I've been a member since 1976!

Disabled Londoners sounded the alarm before Grenfell, but were ignored. We can't make that mistake again. I'm glad the London Assembly listened to concerns from @inclusionlondon.bsky.social and backed our motion for the Mayor to work with government to strengthen regulations for PEEPS.
Two adults are walking through a park in conversation with each other, one is using a walking aid and the other is carrying an umbrella. There is a town skyline in the background. The copy reads ‘You donate it. We double it. 2-9 December only’ and there are Living Streets and Big Give logos.
Your donations help us campaign for safe and accessible streets, so everyone can enjoy the benefits of walking and wheeling.
And this weekend, your gift will go twice as far, thanks to the @biggive.bsky.social #ChristmasChallenge 💝

Red textured background with yellow rectangle and arrows. Bold black text quotes a research participant: "The biggest barrier I face as a blind guide dog handler is street clutter. Even the most familiar route can become impossible due to pavement parking, dumped rubbish, e-scooters or roadworks."
Streets that work for disabled people work better for everyone.
Decluttering our streets makes our communities safer, easier to navigate and more welcoming. And we can all play a role in making that happen.
If you could change one thing about your local streets, what would it be?
Three disabled white people sit and stand on a bridge, gazing firmly at the camera. The first is a man wearing a bright orange cardigan, he is a wheelchair user. The second is a woman with long sandy hair, she is a wheelchair user. The last is a tall man with cropped white hair and a red shirt. The photo has a hot orange background with yellow electrical tape with 'Take Action!' in black text. There are yellow arrows and chevrons pointing to the photo.

Tuig.
Nee. Dit heeft niets met Nederland te maken. Het is pure intimidatie.

MISSING 375,000 accessible and adaptable homes that could have been built since July 2022. Image of a wheelchair user entering a home. Logo of Housing made for everyone (HOME) in the bottom left corner.
The numbers are in – and they’re worrying. Since July 2022, of 487,000 new homes built, we estimate over 375,000 feature inadequate minimum accessibility standards.
As members of the HoME coalition, we are calling for policy change to ensure every new home is accessible.
What would safer streets mean to you? 🙋

Lib Dem research reveals 55 constituencies in England could see 90% of those claiming the standard rate of PIP lose out following the Government’s cuts.

veryone should be able to travel easily, but only 3% of disabled people say they can do so without advance planning—held back by systems that just don’t work for us. It’s time to make the UK’s transport truly accessible to everyone. 👨🦼🧑🦯🧏♀️🐕🦺
