There's this idea, more or less, that instead of saying 'collab' say like "Heya, I was wondering if I'd be able to take a picture with your OC in it!" or something along those lines. Collab implies you're expecting the other person to ALSO do something, hence why a LOT of people stopped using it.
Me starting these themed months and saying "Ok, I'm done" after like...4 uploads, and said uploads are random days ahead of time because I said so LOL
At least now you're seeing that there's a decent amount of people, and likely MUCH more, that share in the sentiment you have. GPose should be no obligations, no expectations. It's all about whether or not we want to take a picture in the first place, (WITH) WHO or WHAT is YOUR choice.
The term 'collab' is a lot of people's woes, too. For example, when you ask someone for a 'collab', are you also expecting them to take/do something in return? Or do you mean that you felt inspired and wanted to take a picture because YOU wanted to? The former is where most issues arise.
And yes, he does have big feet β₯οΈ
I remember, before OCE existed, we were on JP for Ultimates and people would be staring at my Hrothgar because they barely exist over there, we're talking like practically none
Fisting? Nah, I just love being a handsome man's gym set at home π©
Recreated one of the first shots I ever took of him way back when! He's a Xbr'aal who was 'blessed by the Sun' but we all know things are more turbulent than that with my stories~ His markings glow BRIGHT gold when he's about to enter combat, too!
"Kneel, outsider, the sun's radiance is my blessing and you will submit or die. Escape is not an option for you now that I've caught you in my gaze."
And with THAT, the FINAL OC in my old roster that needed an update is complete; Itztli, the Terra Terror! Check below post for a simpler look of him!
The trick is to never call it a collab. "Hey, I would like to take a picture featuring your OC". Though even IF you, or they, call it a collab it's not a lock-in contract, you can always change your mind for /ANY/ reason.
You ever need an anchor, you know where to find me πͺπ€
I think it's because people see the word 'collab' and think they've got no choice but to do a 50/50, which is why I never call any picture I take a 'collab' anymore. It's either I wanted to, or they wanted to, and that's it. None of this fuckin' weird social expectations over pixels frotting lmao
It's really that simple, people really out here "I took a picture already and you said you would too but you're doing it with X instead of me". They genuinely don't hear themselves and taking GPosing /that/ seriously is already an immense red flag because it tells you this is transactional.
Always remember that taking GPoses is ever and always at YOUR discretion. Doesn't matter if the other person took 1000 pictures, you STILL don't owe them even ONE if you truly don't want to, changed your mind or the creativity just isn't there. People who keep track otherwise are huge red flags.
I snapped because someone was like "I sent you my MCDF ages ago and you're still taking pictures with others while I've been patient" like?????????? and I know people out there /definitely/ relate to this silent, community pressure over taking pictures
It's insane how some people genuinely feel trapped and guilted into taking a picture, and on the other end you have people keeping fuckin' tabs on who someone takes pictures with even though "You said you'd take a picture with me ages ago". Ok, and? Shit is obnoxious.
And if you're on the other end? Stop expecting other people to take a GPose just because YOU did. Nobody owes you anything. If they take the picture? Awesome! If they don't? Ah wells! They changed their mind after saying they would? Bummer, life goes on.
Keep it simple, don't be crazy about pixels.
You are not being commissioned to take a GPose, there is no need to subject yourselves to this kind of pressure. Just because you ask for someone's MCDF does not mean the picture WILL be taken. Just because THEY took a picture does not mean YOU have to. Passion and creativity is fickle.
An actual PSA to GPosers;
You are not obligated to take that GPose. You are not obligated to take that 'collab', or picture in general, even if you told the person you would at the time. The burnout you /will/ incur is not worth it. For the millionth-and-one time, this is a HOBBY.
The best fucking thing ever made for this game, from the company and mod makers alike
