it occasionally creates some good outcomes: it thawed relationship in Duran and Andy Taylor, created a very short Talking Heads reunion and I enjoyed seeing all the ex-Cures turn up like divorced parents at a graduation.

The thing about reading random things from strangers whilst moderating Fesshole is I genuinely have no idea who these people are. So is this someone doing a bit of a joke I don't get, or is it someone sneaking around dressed in bin liners because they've become paranoid? No way to ever know.

Starting my youtube shorts channel which is all "You can't buy this in a restaurant, this is what a proper English nana serves at home on a Tuesday night" and it's all fish finger sandwiches and eggs on toast.

I know it's just a jokey idea going "I hate football" but the thing is I don't like football either, but I do respect the idea of a single ball. It's a conductor's baton telling you exactly where your attention should be at that moment.

She might be in full psychosis - I don't know, but the people running the production chain of getting the product to market will not be, as you need a clear head to deal with orders, suppliers, customers stc.

So at best the product is 90% grift rather than 100% grift.

Well I wouldn't say he's a hack, just that his job isn't representing social history - but making people laugh and selling cinema tickets. And he was good at his job until whatever happened with the Love Guru.

I just skimmed the top of the guy's video and he seemed to be saying that we're more similar to 30 years ago than the 90s was to the 60s, and I'm going nah, it's just that Myers picked a certain (groovy) trend in pop culture to work in. If he'd been more into Ken Loach there would be less contrast.

No no no. You're onto something. Write it. Then file off the name "Nathan Barley" and get it made.

It's was a subset of British pop and TV was like, 30 years ago, through the perspective of a Canadian who had watched a lot of it. Could you make a movie about an absurdly exaggerated Brit Pop figure stumbling around this world we're now? Why not really.

No no no. I'm a neurotic weirdo who can't take a compliment. It's occasionally great, often terrible, and I've now blocked you for your dubious taste.

Thanks - normal bullshit then rather than sinister bullshit.

Not ever engaging in football discourse, I don’t know the significance of this?

It's prudent to salt your shadow every few days to scare out any demons hiding in it. Don't forget now.

It always was a choice too. When I first put the the project together I wrote it with threading, so you could submit long posts and the code would post a thread. I quickly realised I hated it and binned that afternoon's work, that I had put in, to make that feature work.

Somehow I've never watched the Prisoner until this Sunday I found the DVDs for £3 in a charity shop. Probably the biggest of the british cult TV shows that everyone of our generation has been obsessed with that I hadn't got round to. Three episodes in now and loving it.

The thing is we used to basically do that with B3ta Question Of The Week, ok it was post-moderation, but still, we used to do it to select 3 a week from 100s for the newsletter. It was very very hard work. You don't want to do it. Short is better.

In case you think "got a point" I limit the length to 280 chars, because of old tweet length; it encourages people to be pithy which makes stories better; and also I've got to read this stuff, and reading 100s of rambling stories a day to look for a few good ones would be harder.

In depressing, everyone thinks everything is AI now news, I found a stranger confidentially telling another stranger that Fesshole was all AI because all the posts are about the same length, and natural language would mean stories would be any length, from short to pages of the stuff.

It's actually a nicer fantasy being in the Rutles than the the Beatles. Do I want to be in the most important group ever, one so obsessed about by everyone, including the mentally unwell, that I have a 50/50 chance of someone trying to kill me? Or do I want to be in a loving, funny, tribute to it?

People always talk about moving Parliament up North we can’t we do it to the Royals instead? Leeds can have them, construct a modern building with all the facilities they need on Ilkley Moore. If Leeds doesn’t want them, they can chase them with sticks to Salford. London gets a new park. Win-win.

I am not lying in either, I came to poor but amusing conclusion 20 years ago. Cling film is bollocks. I can now poach eggs properly - an over twenty year mission is completed.

It was time to turn off replies on the egg post. It had gone mildly viral enough that it was getting replies from Americans incredulous that anyone can buy six eggs.

I was trying to buy a newspaper yes (something to look at on train)

21 hours ago 4 0 1 0

I know it’s not news that physical newspapers are dying, but I just noticed a specifically bleak example by walking into a shop clearly signed as a newsagents and it didn’t sell newspapers. Plenty of vapes and tins of beans mind.

That’s a baked egg. You can call it poached if words are meaningless.

I believe it. They're not great basses - they're iconic coz they're unusual looking and McCartney used one at the start of the Beatles, but it's rare for another bass player to choose them really, except as a novelty photoshoot to go "hey, Beatles"

Made me look up the budget on Wikipedia and each one is twice the budget of the last. And yet they're not twice as funny.

I reckon the age I am now, people will be more impressed that I can cook a good egg than I can skin up. Of course, I am a man of multiple talents, and can do both. Can't juggle though, which is also a bonus.

At the moment I'm resisting knowing too much about it. So tempted to heavy google. Must not heavy google.

Also have a very big fan theory about what the subtext is to all of it and will be curious to see if other fans agree. When I'm done watching it, not before.

Well it's just how long you cook them and the size of the egg.

HOWEVER the thing with eggs, is buying a box doesn't break the bank and you can be systematic about it. What does it look like at diff times?

I would like to do similar experiments with steak but that's not quite so cheap.
