but if you wanna build an app but can't bear the thought of building it yourself and instead outsource it all to fancy autocorrect, you don't actually wanna build an app. you want bragging rights and a dopamine hit. maybe you should look at other hobbies/professions you'll find more fulfilling

don't get me wrong I'm all for ai cutting down on tedium in coding and letting you focus on things that actually matter. I use gemini pretty much every day and it saves me hours on things I hate or trying to remember what an unclear, neglected block of code does in the context of my project.

mindless coding is not coding. you handing over all cognitive control of your project over to a chatbot is the single worst practice you could do and it rids you of all practical debugging or problem-solving skills, and idk last time I heard those were kinda important in stem fields

I genuinely think the last thing we need is slop machines trickling down to 100% of all wannabe developers who wanna put apps on their cv and github but don't actually wanna learn how to properly code. this shit is killing open source as we speak and is making existing software increasingly worse

vibe coding is already democratized. there is this great AGI model out there called "human brain" that has unlimited access to every development resource ever made via the internet and it's 100% free
