Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Went on Piers Morgan today, where I was able to confront Pete Kegseth's Pastor, Doug Wilson, who wants to end the 19th Amendment, create a Christian Supremacist nation, & believes slavery was "mutually harmonious."
Yeah, it didn't go well for him.
I was able to reference Pulp Fiction.
Out later.
Again: young people might not realize that this kind of repugnant racism was unacceptable to express publicly, *not that long ago*.
Judicial elections matter; this was a 4-3 en banc decision of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania in which one Republican sided with three Democratic judges against the other three Republicans, applying our state Equal Rights Amendment and state constitution to protect reproductive autonomy.
This is very good
Hungary’s Prime Minister-elect Péter Magyar said today that his country must take Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into custody if he enters Hungarian territory while wanted by the International Criminal Court.
Infowars/Onion combo logo in rainbow saying “I support the onion’s hostile media takeover.”
It’s finally happened. After 18 months. Finally, a media merger you can root for.
With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.
We've enlisted the help of @timheidecker.bsky.social, who will be InfoWars' Creative Director.
Please stand by for more.
A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!
Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....
ICYMI over the weekend, here's my latest deep dive into Philly culture.

Big abortion win in PA today - the ban on Medicaid funding is unconstitutional!
AND there's a fundamental right to abortion!
We won!
(Though this Commonwealth Court opinion can be appealed - we'll see what our AG does.)
A lovely sense of place on display here.

We’re defending Western Civilization by kicking Plato and Shakespeare out of university classes.
Remember how a key feature of the recent Hungarian election that ousted Viktor Orban was the building of a broad cross-ideological anti-corruption coalition?
I feel like that detail is going to be important, going forward.
Kash is just plain stupid even when he's not inebriated.
Breaking: HHS’s ban on gender-affirming care is struck down. Rarely have I read a ruling this sharply worded.
“This case is one of a long list of examples of how a leader’s wanton disregard for the rule of law causes very real harm to very real people.”

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

As an Asian, cabbage is very good. As an American, I know when the media starts talking about how cabbage is very good it means we’re about to get real poor
So it was never about the law or the Constitution, but simply Roberts acting to protect the coal industry. The only question is how much was he paid by the industry for this opinion.
Has he ever submitted a financial disclosure? This is how SC justices get away with massive corruption.
If Obama had merely known of the unlimited powers of the executive to do whatever, without curtailment, he could have had JJR or his family kidnapped and tortured until he agreed to not impose a stay. Or resign. After all, pardons are unlimited and POTUS can’t be charged. Alas, no crystal ball.
SCOTUS is not a tool for advocacy by the left or the right, if they can’t rule with receiving instructions requested or not, they have no place there, they have what’s probably the easiest job of the judicial, every decision they make is based on one document, one set of historic precedents. Be just
Screenshotted excerpt from linked article reading as follows: "In public, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. has cultivated a reputation for care and caution. The papers reveal a different side of him. At a critical moment for the country and the court, the papers show, he acted as a bulldozer in pushing to stop Mr. Obama’s plan to address the global climate crisis. When colleagues warned the chief justice that he was proposing an unprecedented move, he was dismissive. “I recognize that the posture of this stay request is not typical,” he wrote. But he argued that the Obama plan, which aimed to regulate coal-fired plants, was “the most expensive regulation ever imposed on the power sector,” and too big, costly and consequential for the court not to act immediately."

Conservatives' brains are so broken. Thomas is one of the most powerful people in the country and he lives like a billionaire, vacationing on private yachts and private ranches.
But he is still filled with resentment over "liberals" making his life miserable back when he was a baby in 1948? Wut?
