Aim to live life with the level of joy that this Japanese tourist group at the hotel I'm in is currently experiencing over the concept of a full english breakfast.

Honestly no first person shooter before or since has come even close to the sheer fun I have had as a Mercy main just darting around the map and getting good at positioning, backing up the tanks on a serious objective push, or pulling the game back from the brink of defeat with a huge resurrection.

Getting that urge to install Overwatch again. Damn that Jeff Kaplan interview (and the Dinoflask edit of it) reminding me of the golden era. 😭

Imagining having to explain to even just my past self that in the year 2026, Mori Calliope would be heading up Apple's 50th anniversary celebrations in Japan and be a featured artist on Apple Music with her own Essentials playlist.

If I recall correctly, Japan has super soft tap water compared to pretty much anywhere in the UK. Significantly less mineral content, which is great for skin and especially hair.

Even Endfield has this as a game that has barely had time to cook. You can roughly tell that Valley IV was the playground for mechanics and that they largely formed the story beats and art direction before they went back and added the intro sequence or anything in Wuling.

It is rather cute how you can look at the content in games that were either developed or received new content over many years.

FFXIV has a lot of this where you can see through-lines from them experimenting with mechanics in earlier content, refining it, then standardising what worked well.

There's probably a lesson of “let them cook” in a significant percentage of the video games I could recommend having a first section that ranges from a slog to mid, then you hit the second area/expansion/year and you suddenly truly hit peak.

Me: I'd go to a Hololive event if they did one in Europe.
COVER: Alright bet.

Damn, never thought I'd see the day.

Joking? I thought it was well known that Ingress was a data collection front for Google Maps, and that Pokémon Go's AR feature was an advancement of this.

Apologies to my neighbours. In my defence, Apple Music's Jungle/D&B mix has been absolute fire this morning.

Need an FT review of the economics of how this one woman who runs my local bubble tea shop can serve significantly better food using HK family recipes for less money than so many London restaurants who are cost optimising their supply chains constantly.
