I think I have this month for Movie Night figured out, but Cytube uses a very specific protocol for time-matching that I don't think I can replicate on *that* many other sites. So we'll see how long we can keep Movie Night chugging without a few back-up hosting options.

The vimeo subreddit is basically eating them alive. Which is fair. It sucks now!!
I miss the old competitors of Youtube existing and creating a wild web of video hosting, but I think we may be past that, which sucks.

Ive used them to host movie night for years because, fuck them, but its really funny it took this long for them to "fix" the infinite storage glitch. I have a backup but I think we are nearing the end of copyright-free embeddable storage in the future, Youtube has taken over and every place is dying

It looks like Vimeo may have finally cracked down on infinite trials by blocking credit cards used for trials in the past, that only took like, 5 years.
Its really funny as the platform is already dying but they caught on people were just using the website as temp storage and hate it now lol

My life changed a lot when I started hanging out with more creatives and whenever I churn back into the spaces I grew up in, people I remember, or new acquaintances that don't "Create", I always hit this wall of complete loss of how people get by just existing without wanting or yearning to be more.

It made their general lifestyle make a lot more sense, but that also depressed me. A lot came into focus when I realized "oh, they aren't going to spend ANY time learning a skill that could be useful, or fun for them, unless others do it for them/guide them, they have no goal, personally"

I have a few friends who don't like playing fighting games or complicated games bc they hate training or spending time alone to get good at something, its just so insane to me. They literally don't get joy from perfecting any skill in their free time at all, and I just can't ever understand.
