We used a structural stochastic frontier model in a unique application where the theoretical frontier was known.
Just published a paper with @mikejrob.bsky.social and Imelda showing the benefits of using dynamic pricing of electricity to help balance high-renewable systems. This could lower costs and help incorporate more renewables. Win-win!

I was gonna write what I’ve been seeing all day, and decided not a good idea. Then I was gonna write the adjacent letters to the two letter acronym I keep seeing and that was an even worse idea. Alas I have resigned myself to not knowing.
I've been looking at cover letters / job packets for a bunch of econ PhD folks going on the job market, esp those interested in liberal arts colleges. Love it! I realize, though, that I believe so strongly in one piece of advice that I want to shout it from this particular rooftop:
Use mail merge.
