Danced and forgot all about 'the man'."
Sorry, long sentence.

Pick up the nearest book, turn to p. 42, and post the second sentence:
"I remember, anyway. Christmas rich suppers and outings, and, later, after I left the church, rent and waistline parties where rage and sorrow sat in the darkness and did not stir, and we ate and drank and talked and laugh and
If you feed birds in your garden the RSPB has some new guidelines, as there’s an illness that’s killing off loads of finches that’s spread at bird feeders and birdbaths:
To me, that sounds brilliant.
I am presuming that in the next few years I will get to the north of Scotland. Smoo cave is very much on my list of places to see.
She gives a weird TERFy vibe. She feels the need to be so defensive of what it means to be a woman whilst also defining out a bunch of women.
Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.
Yes I don't think I will be waiting that long.
And even if I am - that's fine too.
Screenshot of an audiobook in BorrowBox. The book is the hyped - Yesteryear. It's listed as On Loan until 9th May 2028.
I've been checking regularly to see if Yesterday had been added to my local borrowbox.
Just checked again, and it has, but also, a 24+ month wait already.
I used some of my lunch break recently to sit in this side chapel.
The vibe was lessened by the tourist man who was whistling as he walked round viewing the cathedral.
I day dream about this far too much.
I would start by decompressing. Wander the lanes and footpaths around me. Watch the pony herds on the moors. Improve my swimming.
But my starting point is a positive right next to a national park, and specifically one of the wilder corners
You are very lucky to be able to enjoy such a space.
I hope you can appreciate how lucky you are.
David Attenborough takes on PHEASANTS!
“Native to Asia, but now released into our countryside on an industrial scale, over 30 million every year… eating vast numbers of insects, reptiles and amphibians every day.”
Time for the Government to regulate this out-of-control industry

Genuine question/curiosity - how big is your garden?
Having done this week's hard work on the allotment yesterday, I was able to potter a bit more today.
I still have a huge list of things I'd like to get done there, but it was lovely to be told by another allotment holder "your plot looks really good".
I try.
Might have to see about organising some litter picks on the bit of Dartmoor that falls in our parish. A variation on beating the bounds ....
Unsolicited writing advice, no. 2961:
Your voice is unique. It’s a combination of many factors: your upbringing and background; the books you’ve read; your personality. Some people may not like it, but it’s yours. Keep it authentic. Trying to sound like someone else is a betrayal of who you are.
I hope things go smoothly.
I am rather fed up with seeing someone share an article about something specifically UK related, and then there being a bunch of comments from Americans making it about the US.
The OP is in the UK. The article is about the UK.
The UK is connected to the entire continents of Europe, Asia, and Africa. Nearly a decade ago a Nissan LEAF (range of less than 150 miles) was driven from the UK in the Mongol rally.
My point is why are people demanding that an EV have a longer range than a petrol car?
Driving for long times without sufficient breaks is dangerous. The UK and the EU limit the time commercial drivers can spend behind the wheel.
Also, UK article/UK cars - why bring up driving in the US?
I always find it curious when people say a mile range that is above the range of some petrol cars.

And it's weird how these Right opinions are so at odds with their general values. My friend dedicates a lot of her spare time to helping local families, but is still on the edge of a rabbit hole.
I have a friend in her 40s who was always a Labour voter before she married. He's now moving from right to centre and she's moved more right.
I found myself reminding her recently that removing the 2 child benefit limit was a good thing generally, even if there's specific people you disagree about.
Rain? Rain?
The weather forecast promised me I'd be able to get some gardening done today, maybe even cut the grass.
Why oh wow did I go away during April/AGM season??
I've got an allotment to catch up on, reports to read, and reports to write.
But I'm going to actually stand down from a committee. Or at least try to.
Cognitive ease is a heck of a driver...
I tell the spiders in my greenhouse that they're welcome but I do need to access stuff (so sorry for breaking your web) and also please I'd rather not see you.
