yeah like when i hear "enemy" i think of people who Hate Hate Hate each other and a lot of books don't really give a "good" reason for the main mcs to be enemies

yeah, i've tried to find some horror romance-type stuff before, but nothing really stood out tbh (granted, it's been a while)

when i hear "dark romance," my mind immediately goes to romance with horror elements, and then i end up sad

i think what the term most authors are looking for is "rivals" because that's what it feels like most of the time
