Tactics for forced adoption of AI are only going to escalate before the house of cards comes down. Keep up the good fight folks the tipping point is in sight.

An Overview of Scientific Reproducibility: Consideration of Relevant Issues for Behavior Science/Analysis For over a decade, the failure to reproduce findings in several disciplines, including the biomedical, behavioral, and social sciences, have led some authors to claim that there is a so-called “replic...

Here’s the paper claiming the .73 probability back in 2019

Here it is. They only test replicability of P values with same data. Ironically they find the rate of getting a P value within 15% of the original (73.5%) that is predicted by a previous paper on this as just being a feature of sampling error within the statistic

Hey science 🧪 friends - people are all aflutter rn about this new replicability study of behavioral science.

I remember a few years back (maybe more) this was done for natural science research and the findings were as bad, if not worse. Help me find that study???

A progressive candidate that the right was calling a radical trans activist just won a state Supreme Court seat in Wisconsin, beating Trump’s 2020 numbers in rural districts

IMO it’s less about who gets the fickle centrist and who the candidates get to the polls that wouldn’t otherwise show.

The best. And they are at their best when they are exactly like this. Any attempt to “elevate” them immediately takes away the magic

Analysis Finds That Google's AI Overviews Are Providing Misinformation at a Scale Possibly Unprecedented in the History of Human Civilization A new analysis commissioned by The New York Times suggests that Google's AI Overviews are wrong an astonishing percentage of the time.

Google’s AI Overviews are providing “tens of millions of wrong answers … every hour — and hundreds of thousands every minute.”

wow, i love the AI future!

Can't imagine this won't get chopped by Paramount's leadership if the takeover happens😔

Apparently I could write a biography of my teenage years as a BBS sysop and people would read it as low-tech sci-fi?

Am I the only one not at all surprised that an AI company would do everything it could to protect the tech industry?

Lets see them do everything they can to protect intellectual property, skilled labor, the arts, individual privacy, and human well-being. Then I'll clap.

Maybe all the Democrats not wait for the Majority Leader or the Speaker, both of whom are compromised and complicit sycophants, to do anything, and just convene Congress right now, sua sponte, and start legislating from where you are and with rules you decide......

They just said “earthshine” when describing the light they have to block out from the windows so they can see the moon better and I love that so much

I think she said something along the lines of how “humans are uniquely capable” of making key observations, descriptions & context.

(She may not have meant it this way, but I took it as an implied burn on the prominent belief that AI/tech can replace all human tasks.) bsky.app/profile/phil...

My awe for Artemis II is hitting hard because it *not* an example of what is possible because of this violent and extractive and exploitative civilization we’ve built, but what we are possible of despite it. Imagine what we might be capable of in a society built around care and cooperation

Loving how the #artemis announcer is giving so much credit to the importance of the crew's qualitative observations of the moon's surface, going so far as to say we can provide critical context and relational understanding of the moon's features with our own eyes that cameras and computers cannot.

Don't read the chat in the @apnews.com youtube feed of Artemis II if you want to maintain any hope for humanity

See, I just don’t get this. Is it just more comfortable for people to assume they are morons who don’t understand exactly what they are doing?

I’ve said it a hundred times we underestimate these people at our peril.

Given Trump’s Easter threats to carry out new war crimes in Iran, we should think one or two steps ahead about a coup attempt connected to the war. And then deter it. (1/17)
