Switched from Duo to Babbel after 18 months, don't know if it's just the change, but I'm liking it much better.

Even though in my twenties I was battling bulimia and near poverty, hearing the right song from that era brings back all the joyful parts like living on my own in a home place, being in love, and having your whole life ahead of you. The power of music!

In trying to get over my first scathing NetGalley review, I found reading other hate-reveiws of books I loved rather helps.

I wonder which is more awkward, that or bumping into the only sibling you have when you haven't spoken in years and no there's no future?

What Three-Star Reviews Really Mean for Authors | Jane Friedman Readers who give three stars are often responding to the intersection between their expectations and the book—not the book’s inherent worth.

Thanks for this @janefriedman.com I'm getting a lot of 3 star reviews on netgalley, but most of these are still recommending it to their audience.

If you're at a Thai restaurant and they ask you on a scale of one to five how spicy your food should be, remember 3 is still pretty hot!

When I did art for my occupation/passion, I used to make that argument. Such as when people would say "a six-year-old could have done that" particularly about Jackson Pollock's work.

Art is only art if the creator is driven to create. Being programmed doesn't count.

And on most platforms, if you're not the reviewing type, you can at least leave a rating! Thank you!

Moving day! We are resettling into a 30-foot travel trailer, while we remodel one more house, hopefully our last! I do a door tiny spaces, though. This kitchen makes me happy! "Enforced low-clutter".

Inspecting the first proof of my new book. What you think kitty cat? Me, I'm still out on the ground wood/eggshell paper from Ingram Spark. #indieauthor #cosyhorror

Six years of sentiment turned to ash. In downsizing and not wanting to leave too much behind, I burned the stacks letters V and I wrote to each other while dating long distance in the days before email and easy phone calls! Hard to say goodbye to the proof 40+ years later.
