Racial and Ethnic Discrepancies in Pulse Oximetry and COVID-19 Treatment Eligibility This cohort study examines the differential inaccuracy of pulse oximetry by race or ethnicity among patients with COVID-19.

An example that immediately springs to mind is a long-known and serious problem that was brought to the forefront during the pandemic. Pulse oximetry is not as accurate for people of color. And this is dangerous and unacceptable. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

Millions in new funding for revolutionary paediatric intensive care trial Researchers at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) have received more than £6m in funding from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to lead a revolutionary study to find the best treatments for critically ill children in paediatric intensive care units (PICUs) across the country.

In addition to being an associate editor for a journal and on the editorial board for 2 others, i am getting up to 10 requests a day to review for other journals ! Obviously decline. The system isn’t functional. Too many (useless) journals and reviewing reliant on a small % researchers !
