Mad fact... 42% of Labour Prime Ministers have had to fire Peter Mandelson.

Suddenly feeling better about that draw with Brighton.

And a hell of a lot better about Chelsea being one of our remaining fixtures. They look like they’re having a collective breakdown.

I’m sure she thinks she’s funny but this is pure Trump.

See, I'm not sure it's actually the Libs they're owning.

There’s some staggering footage in those documentaries. The progressive left has shot itself in the foot time and again in recent years. It’s been an absolute gift to the right - it’s given them a sense of credibility on social issues that they seemed to have lost.

This coming from a guy who received five draft deferments during the Vietnam era, including one medical deferment that was attributed to “bone spurs” in his heels.

Tbf, the US not caring about malfeasance in public office is exactly why they have unleashed these horrors upon the world.

Mahmood told Forde’s Political Party podcast at the Duchess Theatre that claims she was chasing Reform votes were “just a way of delegitimising the point of view that I bring to the table”.

“It’s also a way of delegitimising the perfectly valid, legitimate views of millions of people in this country, including ethnic minorities in this country. And it’s not acceptable, right? And also, you’re trying to put me in a box, which includes a lot of people who think I don’t even belong in my own country.

“That’s why I said this individual can just fuck right off, because I know I belong in my own country. You’re not going to be able to do that to me,” she said.

She said there was an aspect of racism to the claims. “I do think there is that element of it, which is: ‘How dare you, a brown woman, say a thing that we white liberals think you’re not allowed to say?’ Well I’m saying it.”

Can't think of anything funny to say about this. Mahmood's repeated weaponisation of racism to defend her racist policies might be the most immoral thing a minister has done since Osborne's Philpott comments

If we learned anything from The Thick Of It, it should have been this.

Every bit of this is so odd. They produce a vetting document but Robbins doesn't see it and neither does the PM. Who does? Does nobody? Is it just produced and published, never to be seen?

Great idea, let’s give it to Lebedev next.

Ouch, Robbins says there was discussion in No10 as to whether Mandelson, as a peer, needed to be vetted *at all* for the job of ambassador to the US

That photo of Kash Patel suggests that somebody has just quite patiently explained to him how the process of discovery works in the American legal system.

It'd almost be worth Ed Miliband taking over just to watch/hear the massive meltdown on the Right.

A sort of reverse 'owning the libs'.

The Darth Maul show is SO good. Same world as the Clone Wars/Bad Batch, but really leaning into more of an Andor vibe.

OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.

Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.
