Their goal is for us to never let us put the *** thing down. Even when we're asleep. If they could stream ads into our dreams, they'd already be doing it.

There's also an affordability factor. I know the acceptance rate at our local college (Michigan Tech) and at U of Michigan is vastly different for the "Dad is paying" student vs the "Needs financial assistance" student. It's probably similar at U of Chicago these days.

My uncle, a farmer, used to have $5K in his pocket back in the 1960s, 'in case he wanted to buy a car or a tractor or some cows.' I've known lots of folks to carry lots of money quite casually over the years.

Folks freaking out over Kristi Noem having over $3K in cash in her purse should understand that this isn't that unusual for Rich People.

It's a far cry from my uncle who used to have $5K in his pocket in the 1960s "in case he wanted to buy a car" which would be around $40K today.

In 2004ish, when I lived in the Greater Detroit Area, they closed a plant in Ypsilanti, replacing it with one in Mexico. Our Mexican lawn crew quit and went to work at the new plant; guys that were fired in Ypsi took over. It was surreal.

A couple of things ...
First, I'm quite happy that I took the money from our investments in February to do the work planned this year.

So they're trying to say that they will make up the revenue from cutting taxes on Americans, by raising taxes on imported goods. Americans will be able to have lower costs as long as they don't buy imported goods.
