Today’s Gravy: selling books at C3 Game Con in Corvallis, OR
Posts by Gravy Press | boRyan
Missed a daily, so here's today and yesterday:
PIPESONG:
- Got the HIVE preliminary layout done
- Did some test maps for the Tangle
- Did quite a bit of editing on the Tangle and Pipesong platforms
NOT PIPESONG:
- Prep for a local TTRPG market
- Got in a round of disc golf
- Day job
You have to install ruby and jekyll with the command line in VSCode or whatever you're using, but I was able to muddle through without having used ruby for anything before
Yeah! My setup is slightly more complex because I made a custom home page, and only use Jekyll for blog posts, but the jekyll setup was as simple as pointing my Cloudflare Page at a github repo and setting my build command to `jekyll build`
I think it’s way less complex, but everyone has their own heuristics
Gravy Press daily:
- Ran session 8 of Gradient Descent
- Therapy
- Got the new Pipesong Hive stuff in layout, and took a run at the map for this section
Transfer your domain to cloudflare and use something like bear or Jekyll?
Some notes on encounters could be a worthy inclusion. Details beyond 'number of monsters' are highly impactful during play. You can bail the warden out of needing to improvise, or direct random encounters towards the crux of the module.
Today at Gravy Press:
- Played a round of disc golf because I'm allowed to do stuff just because it is fun.
- Got some major edits done on one of Pipesong's major locations, the Hive.
A too-short list of buildings turned into a cast of criminals unique vibes and an organizing ethos. Progress!
Last week we wrapped up the first draft of the PIPESONG manuscript. Yesterday, I started editing the keys for our Pipecrawl (tm tm tm).
I also set up some google sheets to track editing assignments.
Just watched Vampire Hunter D (1985). Highlights: the monsters living in not-Dracula’s basement are an amazing assortment of totally unique weirdos. Also, everyone who creeps on the Dorris the lead girl immediately dies afterwards.
GURPS! The first RPG I ever discovered was at my LGS, drafting MtG with my best friend. We were 10, and found a copy of GURPS Lite in the 'free shit' section.

You would 100% be played by H Jon Benjamin
Cryptid with whiskers on rooftop of clubhouse. Crescent moon and Fairy lights illuminate the scene.
A bunch of projects launching for Kickstarter’s #ZineQuest this month are using Gen-AI. Even if the concept sounds appealing, please support designers with integrity first. If this sounds unreasonable, we shouldn’t be mutuals.

Dungeon Town Fence: A "dangerous" dungeon item can be sold with a maximum placed on either speed, value, or descression. Pick 1. ⚡Speed = money next session, 💰Value = 2x money, 🤫Discretion = no one hears about it. A fence might give a thief a discount on their cut out of professional courtesy

Another excellent article from the Times, “the only problem with AI is there might not be enough money in the world to make it good”
@iwriteok.bsky.social Your death ray company should be called "Ray-theon" I've never been angrier with you

Oh shit that’s me!
I’m getting a crash in the font menu. If I’m in there long enough, it will crash
Wake me up when they make it out of the 12 foot skeletons
A beautiful tortoise shell cat laying precariously on top of cabinet doors. Its arms and extremely fluffy tail are dangling. Why is it like this? Is it a gargoyle? A monster? A perfect baby? Yes.
The weird varmint who lives in my house turned FOUR yesterday! Happy birthday Gravy
"It will be a cold day in hell when you catch me ragging text by hand," he said, as he inserted soft hyphens just in case

Too excited to do math apparently, we are at like 2.2x 🤣
This is my first ever crowdfund, so I’m understandably EXTREMELY HYPED
Technically funded in under four hours (3 hours and 58 minutes, count it!) and over 2.5x funded on day 1. We got early bird patches, get em while they’re piping hot. First stretch goal unlocked is another sick-ass patch, even our patches got patches.
